Try searching on this subject. My recomendation would be to wait and see if the Y-pipe and headers come out or cough up the cash for the greddy. I regret not waiting for the greddy!

I would suggest you purchase a Y-pipe for your Max, it should be out soon and should give you about a 12 hp gain, this coupled with an intact, about a 6 hp gain, should be a good start and give you a nice growl. An exhaust is not known to give large hp gains like it would on an American made V-8. And while a Greddy is pretty expensive, around $600, most members here that have them are pretty happy.

Org members have dynoed Stillen y-pipe at twelve hp, while the Stllen intake gets you eight hp. The fantastic Greddy Evolution catback was dynoed at a whopping FIVE hp(not alot for $600). I'd suggest get the y-pipe and Intake and ENJOY THE RIDE.

My bad. In that case an axhaust would just be a cosmetic upgrade for you. The 5th Generation muffler seems to be an optimzed exhaust if you read the prior threads and posts. Happy Modding.

exactly, i decided not to get an exhaust system after a 5gen member dynoed his car with everything removed after the main cat. the result, only a 2hp gain! the y-pipe and intake will do wonders for the engine....do it, hear and feel the gain!

This is my first post and i'm interested in the topic. I just bought my 2k3 SE on July 5th. My first purchase was a Frankencar intake and know i'm looking into the exhuast. I had an EVO on my old Eclipse and it provided no gains, just a drone on the highway. How would a WSP y-pipe, combined with their b-pipe(w/out resonator), all going through the stock muffler work?
