I have had my 5th gen sence late June when about 4 weeks and 4000 miles into it my clutch went out.
I took it into te shop and they tried to clame I was abusing it but I have only sed te vehicle to comute to work about 200 miles a day.

Well after further diagnoses they found that the input shaft was warped and had cracked the bell housing and trashed 2nd thru 5th gears as well as toasting the flywheel and clutch assembly.

I know it is a long shot but has anyone else seen this sort of issue.

That sounds really bizarre. Good luck! BTW, I cant think of the name of the law, but everything is covered for the first year or 12,000 miles as I have heard. everything. even wear and abuse are generally covered. Given that, they have to prove abuse, not the other way around. during this time the burden of proof is them. Unfortunately that can make for an expensive time consuming ordeal (ie you still have to pay for the repair, then sue), you should still be ok even if they press the abuse thing.

 

Did you notice any clutch chatter when easing into 1 st gear??

Mine does this, but I attributed this to the previous test drives by morons who don't know how to drive well.

Although, the chatter is starting to disappear.

 

When I got the car it didnt run anything like my 91 se did

Now that I have finaly goten it back sence the tranny went out then after having the trany and such replaced it tosted another clutch in 8 days (the shope that serviced it incorrectly adjusted the clutch)

the car is runing better than my 91 did
it didnt drive this well when I took delivery of it
as for the name of the law it is the texas lemon law
