Non-Bose Stereo Question, 2k2's

Does anyone here with a 2k2 "Type A" audio system (non-Bose) know what "SCV" is? You can select SCV from the "Audio" button that you use to scroll through to adjust the bass, treble, balance, etc. settings. When SCV is displayed, you can select OFF, LOW, MID or HIGH. Does anyone here know what this is? It says nothing in the owner's manual about what it is for. Only how to select it and change the settings.

And to add to that, according to the owner's manual, this SCV feature is only available on "Type B" (Bose) stereos, but yet I have it on my "Type A", non-Bose. Any ideas??

I believe it stands for 'speed volume control' or something like that. Anyway, on the Bose system, it adjusts the EQ and/or raises the volume to compensate for road noise at a certain volume. I dont know if it actually works on non-Bose systems (mine), but it doesn't seem to make a big difference either way.
