2000 Key Question

I recently had my keys stolen and am now left with only one plus that key that only opens doors (i never tried to start the car with it, but is that accurate?)
Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has made copies of their key and how much will it run me? I was told the dealer will charge around $100 which includes a copy and to program it. Any way to get it done cheaper? I am in NYC...

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry to say that it DOES cost that much for the key. I think the key itself is almost like 60-70 dollars... plus programming...

do not use the one that only opens the door to try to start the car. My dealer told me that one is the "master" key and if you try to start the car with it, it will screw up the computer.

It's a lot for a freakin' key... Someone told me you can get it done at DMV in Brooklyn, anyone know about that??
