New intake?

I just installed my Berk intake. How long does it take for the ECU to recalculate the added air flow and make it's adjustments?

I truthfully didn't expect a huge difference with just an intake. I was just wondering how long it takes for the computer to analyze and process the rush of more air accross the MAF. I had a K&N dropin filter to begin with. I did notice that the rpm's seem to climb more quickly and smooth. I'm betting that I'll notice more of an impact with a Y-pipe. Isn't the air coming in the original intake colder than the where the Berk is located? Does anyone have a Y-Pipe that fits correctly?

I took out the front part of the factory intake as well. The piece right by the front grille. Should I have?

Also, I'd recommend the Frankencar midpipe to go with your Berk. For $50, I think you will get the performance gain you were looking for.
I have to admit I love that growl. It kinda sounds like a BMW 330's growl. What's the pros/cons of the CAI over the HAI? I don't understand how the Frankencar Midpipe can make a difference in performance. Can anyone explain?
