help!! mechanic says porterfields missing parts

i purchased the AP430 R4S brake pads for my 2001 maxima. my mechanic is here rightnow installing them and said that they are missing the heat shield and the low point clip that makes them squeel when the pads are low. im sure the low point clip doesnt matter, but the mechanic said the headshield can make the calipers heat up too much and seize.

anyone else have these porterfields and did they come with heat shields? if not do you have any trouble..

thanks need help fast putting them on tonight

When you say "heat shield", do you mean the backing plate?

Their was nothing missing from my Poterfields... true, they do not have the squeel tab, minor inconvienience, but no backing plate? Their has to be one their, they could not simply ship you the pad pieces without them being attached to anything. On the Porterfields they are all black, and look like one whole piece...

i think you're talkin' botu the shims right???? the porterfields don't come with shims.. u gotta get the shim kit form nissan.. you running 300zx brakes or stock.. either way u need to buy the shim kit from nissan... i never heard anyone refer to them as heatshields but that just might be one of the reasons why they're there.. but yeah.. go to nissan...
