i'm thinking of getting the y-pipe. cattman mentions 95-99 models as having pre-cats. do our 2000s have pre-cats? if so should i be concerned with emissions? and if not, are the gains in hp and torque as significant?

 

yes the 2k has the pre-cats. I believe that there are two that are removed by the y-pipe. My understanding is that the effect is not great enough to cause you an emission problem. It may depend on your state/county, whether it tests and how stringent the tests are. By the way, I have a Cattman y but have not yet installed it. From my research, it is superior to the Stillen and Cattman says it doesn't buzz like Stillens. We will see.

 

I have the Stillen Y Pipe (New Generation) and it's not that noisy, you'll hear a nice russhhh! from 2-6000 rpm.
The CAI is much louder.
