need keys & keyless remote

where can i get them made for less? are there other dealers that will do it for less or even non-nissan places that can do it?

3 keys & 3 keyless remotes = $400 at the nissan dealer in town
(that's $40 per key, a one time $40 programming fee, & $80 per remote)

ahhhhhh, the old days... $1.50 keys at the hardware store

seems that the dealer is the only way to go. I can't think of anywhere else to go. Try the back of some automotive magazine..

Have you tried EBay? Here's a couple auctions I found for lightly used remotes:

Keyless Remote auction 1

Keyless Entry Remote auction 2

Couldn't find any for 5th gen keys though. Hope that helps!

Don't know where to get keys but at ebay I purchased a New remote for $11 with shipping. There were any number of remotes in the $10-$20 range with instructions on how to program. The remote I got was clearly , absolutely a stock Nissan unit, and worked perfectly. Programming couldn't be easier if you have the instructions - no electronic gear needed, just hit the right buttons in the right sequance.

The dealers are crooks

I got extra keys and remote from Dave B. and I got a pretty good deal

You still have to go to your dealer to program the keys but unless you do them one at a time they shouldn't chjarge you for each key for programming, just one half hour of labor for all of them(like 30-50 bux). You can get remotes from wherever and program them yourself

As everyone has mentioned... get the remote online (you need to know the part number),
and get the keys online if you can find a good deal. I got two on ebay for $20 shipped ($10 each)

You never know what dealers will charge. Gwinnett place Nissan charged me $170 for two keys and programming (with a 10% off coupon it was about $150).
Carraige Nissan (gainesville ga) told my brother it would be about $100 for two keys and programming for a 2k Altima. I have come to the conclusion that there is no "standard" rate.
