Think you have problems: check out BMW M3 Engine Failures

We tend to obbess over the little problems with our Maximas. Imagine plunking down $50k+ for your ultimate driving machine, BMW heralded M3, only to discover this "minor" problem. Always buy Japanese.

wow...amazing...all these incidents on cars

where obviously there arent many on the road...
Well, 333 hp out of 3.3 liters is a not-too shabby 100 hp/liter...add to that a block that started it's life as a 2.3 liter, add to that the fact that a straight sixes' cranshaft is loooong and thus inherently 'whippy' and you have -this

I guess I like the VQ better...

Weak Ignitor problems with most hondas

Every car, every company, every "import/domestic" has it's problems.

Sure, but I'll take a "hood latch issue" any day over an engine problem! We complain about paint and brakes because we rarely have mechanical and electrical problems. Own one and you'll understand!

Don't forget crankwalk on MKIV Supra's too.

There was a guy in the local BMW club that had his motor let go at 120 mph at Watkins Glen. Talk about a surprise.

At least BMW is covering replacements if the engine has never been over-revved, in contrast to Toyota who you have to sue for a year to get anything done.

The "legend" of the "Ultimate Ripoff Machine" lives on!

These guys paid over 50 large for their rides and BMW treats them like fecal matter- unbelievable!

Glad my next ride will be another max or a G-35
