Another Dealer Story
Another Dealer Story
Had my MAF sensor replaced at the dealer two weeks ago (Performance Nissan in Duarte, CA), thanks for the correct diagnosis, those who replied to my original post. Dealer fixed it under warranty, so couldn't complain too much. But, today, I left my car in front of the Dodge dealer for my wife to use while she had our Durango in for service (my buddy picked me up and took me to work). When my wife tried to start the car, it wouldn't start, just sat and cranked. Here she is, standing in the morning drizzle with two small kids and car seats, and the car won't start. She wants to have the thing towed back to the dealer, but I tell her to wait until I get off of work, and I'll try to start it. I get home, the car starts right up. Finally figure out that its the key programming, my key starts the car, her's won't. So, I call the dealer, ask them if they happened to re-program the key while trying to figure out what the problem was. The service manager says, yeah, we might have done that, why is there a problem? Are these guys really this stupid, or do they deliberately try to **** off their customers? I cannot believe that they did this! Anyhow, to finish the story, they apologize, ask me to bring it back so they can re-program all of the keys. GRRRRRRR.
PS - the Dodge dealer rescued my wife, took her and the kids home, offered to keep an eye on my car for the day. Never thought I'd see the day when Dodge service was better than Nissan.

yeah.. dodge can have much better service. I have a coworker that has gotten out of warranty work done for free (there was a TSB) and he got a new truck because of a small chip on the hood. crazy
