?? Super Charger for 2002 Max

I am new to this board and have just bought a 2002 Maxima GLE and have about 3000 miles of it. My Previous car was a 95 Buick Roadmaster with LT1 engine. The Buick was nearly stock the only modifications were K&N filter and ECU modifications which can be made with a Laptop computer. My Maxima is slow compared to the Buick, it's performance off the line is good but seems very slow after the 1-2 shif, doesn't seem to pickup agian till about 4500 RPM. I have noticed that Stillen lists a HKS SUPER AFR for the 2002 Maxima, has anyone installed this unit yet. If so, do you still have the bog after the 1-2 shift. I would like to be able to match the Buick's performance which means 0-60 in under 6 and the 1/4 in high 13's/low 14's.

So, what's are you asking here? about a supercharger or Super AFC?
There probably won't be any superchargers from Stillen, but custommaxima.com is developing a turbo. you can check their website out.

255+80 does not equal 335 FWHP. Perhaps at the crank, but not at at the front wheels

Even with that he's likely to not have matched the torque "feel" of the LT1 V8 in his previous ride.....Great possible solution though! Oh credit card debt sux...the more you have, the more **** ya want but I don't have $5k worth of room....

I am thinking turbo should give you at least 100hp increase at the wheels in 2k2

I think so too. I would like someone to R&D a CAM job for the 2K2.
You know, allow the valves to stay open a little longer for more air and fuel. Perhaps change the injectors and fuel pump, then turbo. No flames, I know I'm over simplifying. That'll give you about 400 at the crank. 450 at the crank would be nice. With some serious weight reduction you're talking breaking into the 11s which is sort of my goal in this madness.

You aren't the only one to think of that. Crower was going to be my choice but I dropped the idea once i learned of the JWT cams. $1200 set of billets.

I know of no one who has used that device on a 2K2 Maxima. But you can do some of the same basic bolt ons for now. There are a few companies that make intakes for these cars. Frankencar, Injen, Berk Tuning. Most of us aren't as familair as you are with the Roadmaster but I would assume that car wasn;t as fast as the Impala SS. I have beaten pleanty of those in the older slower Maxima that I used to have. If you say soem roadmasters were running 13's I'll just take your word for it. But was YOUR roadmaster running 13's? The point of that question is to be sure that your Maxima actually is slower than the car your have instead of it just being your perception. Clearly though, if you had a low 14 second car then it was faster than the car you have now. The 2K2's are the fastest stock auto Maximas ever made and have tons of torque (relative to engine configuration and the previous VQ30DE). And the fastest known 2K2 auto ran a supposed 14.4. One of the fastest proven stock auto cars ran 14.66.

Some advice that you may want to consider is to be very careful when dealing with stillenyourmoney. Virtually anything they sell can be had elsewhere at much better pricing. I and plenty of other people do not consider them to the the formost in Nissan performance.

you don't really need all that to beat Mustang GT and TL/CLs...yeah, you could use all that hp to run against the Z-06s...but then, you're still going to get smoked off the line..by your own tire smoke..

sometimes it sucks having all that hp in a FWD car

it'd be really cool to have a twe stage boost controller...keep the boost at minimum off the line, and crank up the boost once your tires hook up! ooooo...
