Out ran sheriff tonight!

Like a dummy I was going 60 in a 45. I thought it was a 55 zone. He passed me tonight and I saw him immediately turn into someones driveway and turn around. Man can cops drive good. I immediately took off to my inlaws house which is where I was heading. I knew he saw me turn down the road at the bottom of the hill, but I managed to outrun him and get to the inlaws house. I am extremely glad that I bought my Addco RSB. The car handled amazing while turning the corners at high speeds. I am also extremely dumb, because I'd probably be in jail right now if I had been caught. Needless to say, I will pay more attention to the speed limit than I did before.

He cant do anything with a license plate number. Only thing he CAN do is next time he sees you, is to be sure to issue you a ticket and not a warning.

Well, my bro has a friend who put a short shifter in his civic awhile ago, and right when he got it, he was testing it out and chirping 2nd up and down the street all around the neighborhood. He stopped by a friend's house and like 10 minutes later, a cop rings the doorbell and asks who owns this civic. The cop gave him a ticket for exhibition of speed or something else.

he can easily fight the ticket.. supposidely tickets get thrown out easily if the cop loses site of the car. if a cop did that to me, i'de smile, say "nice try" take the ticket and get ready for court.

yeah I dont think you can get a ticket

unless its at the time. If a cop sees you on friday night but cant catch you(like if you just kept going and he wasnt trying to pull you over) he cant write you a ticket for that on sat, but he probably will write you a ticket for anything you did on Saturday

Virus: ive sorta done that before, and gotten the car into the garage before the cop rolled down my block, then you get the look when your neighbors figure out whats going on

My brother is a cop so I knew he couldn't give me a ticket once he lost site of me and considering he didn't see my car. I barely noticed the lights on top of his car, so I know he didn't catch what my max looked like with the bright HID's. Can anyone really see a max unless it's parked anyways

That sucks, but it should be easy to fight. It doesn't matter who onws the car, how does the cop know who was driving it?? It could have been his friend driving, why didn't the cop ticket him instead?

If they didn't personally witness it, it won't hold up in court.

I am a police officer. The only thing a police officer needs to issue a ticket is probable cause to believe a violation occurred and that you were the one who did it. That PC is easiest to obtain by observing the violation and then making an immediate stop, but it can also be found in other ways. For example, if you admit to the violation when the cop comes by your house three days later, he has all the PC he needs. Or if three people say you were the one driving and committing the violation, that works, too. Another trick is this: the cop drives around until he finds the car; maybe you wont answer the door, or maybe you deny having been the driver. Solution: impound the car as evidence. I've done that several times, and people often fess up when they see the hooks being put on their car.

You'd have to be absolutely sure you have the right car, otherwise your job and the county or cities money is on the line. I personally wish that I hadn't put myself in that position. I not only endangered myself, but my passenger and anyone else that may have been on the road. Thankfully her parents live in the boonies and neighbors aren't very near.

You're right about that one; that's why it's not so easy being a cop. Decisions are harder to than most people think they are, and you have to make those decisions very quickly. Then the whole world has weeks and months to critique your decisions down to every last detail!

I'd agree with you. Being a cop is kinda like champaign taste on a beer budget. Meaning, your expected to know the law inside and out similiar to a lawyer, but you don't get the pay you deserve. Luckily my brother works in Washington DC. DC pays very well, especially with the overtime. He used to double his salary when doing patrol duty. He's now a lieutenant and just passed the captains test.
