anyone with a 2k-2k1 have their sunglasses holder tab break?

Well, the little plastic tab that keeps the sunglasses holder closed, broke off today. Has anyone else with a 2k-2k1 had this happen to them? If so could you tell me the part number for the sunglasses holder? I guess I'll call Dave B. to order one or can I get it cheaper somewhere else?

Thanks,
J.

swap it out with the 2k2 one. it opens more smoothly. it should be less than 20 bucks IIRC.

mine did.. paid like 12+ (or something seriously cheap) from DaveB. The 2k2 one is 1/2 of the 2k version. you do have to trim alittle material off to make it fit, but its not much and even what is trimmed cannot be seen with either version - so its a win-win.

So you had to trim some of the headliner material to make the 2K2 one work? Also, I think when you order the 2K2 holder you have to get the one that goes in 2K2's without a sunoof...I think the 2K2's with sunroof have a one-piece unit that includes the sunroof controls.

You have to trim alittle on the sides and the front. When you remove your old one, you'll see the indentions where old one was. Again, even after trimming, you could stick the other one back in without a gap. The stuff cuts like butter, but you will want to be carefully the utility knife doesnt slip, obviously.

Yeah, I dont really know anything specific because my call to Dave when like this (as all do):

Me: "Hey Dave, it's Tim Ware.. My sunglass holder broke, need to replace it"
Dave: "The 2k2 one is like $10, the 2k one is like $30"
Me: "2k2 then"
Dave: *a few clicks on the keyboard* "Ok, frost/gray right?" - I guess he has my VIN stored or he can read minds.
Me: "Yep, same shipping/payment as last time"

then *bamm* there it is at my door. My life would be so much easier if I could order everything from Dave. Maybe I'll call him up and order a few CPUs and some client licenses and just see what happens

Ahh Tim- You're too kind. I guess I just remembered your car as having a frost interior. Think I could make it in the publishing business? If anyone needs one, I've got the '02 sunglass holder in stock in both blond & frost, $11.72 shipped anywhere in the lower 48!

Hello Dave,

I am looking for a 2001 sunglass holder, and if a 2002 model fits in with a little trimming, that is alright too.

Is it still $11.72 shipped?
