I'd like to have that done to my maxima. I think it gives it a more
agressive edge to it IMHO. Some people may think you are misrepresenting it,but it's my max and I can do whatever I want to it. Besides Nissan (New Altima) , honda, and Pontiac put dual exhaust on theirs.

I think dual exhausts would look tight on my 02 Max. Especially if it was 2 tips per muffler. The only problem is that unless you've got some forced induction, you're probably gonna end up losing some hp. I'm still considering it though...

i would also think you might be losing some low end torque because you would be reducing backpressure. thats something else to think about if my logic is correct.

Your logic is assuming that one wouldn't optimize tubing size. With proper planning and proper tubing size, a true dual system would make MORE torque, not less.

thats not entirely true... in the mr2, g35c, celica etc... they use a single muffler with two exhaust tips on each side of the rear bumper... this approach would no decrease hp

This is definitely on my list for next spring, it's going to be a Dual exhaust with Dual 4" PowerTech, I already have a PowerTech and I like it very much, with 2 PTR mufflers it's going to be very intimidating, I mean with some force induction.

Cheers

Well I was thinking of using 2 mufflers, because I think it looks better that way. And looks would be my main purpose for doing this particular mod.

You will only lose power if you use oversized pipng. A 2 1/2 inch setup is perfect, if you are NA . Even with some type of power adder, you really woudnt need to go any bigger than 3 inches...

You don't even need 2 and a half inch. Just 2 inch would be better on a NA car. 2 and a half for maybe turbo and probably 3 with a supercharger. Of course this is if its a true dual system.

i ran 2.5 for my duals.. and gained torque, but lost HP.. according to the butt dyno and the guy who mandrel bent all my piping this summer from cat back.

When I had a Dual Exhaust pro under my car when he was installing the PowerTech muffler he told me he could do it but he would have to modify the sparetire well if you want ANOTHER PowerTech muffler there also. He said he can easily route some pipe over there and make it LOOK like you have Dual exhausts but cant match the PowerTech that easily. If it was like a Greddy 4"tip then it can be done easily.

Hi Dixit, I plan on cutting the entire spare room thus leaving enough space for a second PT muffler.

Cheers

Oh I see, a good place to hide a sub though. Cutting this area will compensate for the additonal weight of the second muffler and piping, the Y-Pipe's going to need a surgery too, but will figure out when it's time. I heard that the S/C is coming, did you bought it brand new ? Give me news.

Cheers
