Ok, Who Has The Definitive Instructions on Programming Remote

I did a search and found many useful info. but nothing works. I dont have my manual- I actually didnt have the manual when I bought the car last novem. from a Lexus dealer. I seem to get confused with the "enter new ID" thing. Whats that? How would I enter that? Anyway, I just got a new remote from Ebay and cant seem to program it right. Help anyone?
I follow the steps meticulously and still nada. And btw, I ordered a replacement key from Tustin for my 2K for $31 + ship. I live in NY and they are in CA so it was $10 in got in 3 days. Thanks Matt!
Key programming prices I found:
Koeppel Niss: $130
Yonkers Niss: $ 79
*** Niss: $48
Premium Niss: $38
Autotech Niss: Chic kept me on hold 4Ever

Guess where I am going!

I was under the impression that the dealer had to program it for you.

Actually, I found out its really simple and you can do it yourself. I just dont know what I am doing wrong. Now the key you have to go to the dealer.

Perhaps this...

http://www.courtesyparts.com/instruc...ote-entry.html

and I think it is the key that HAS to be dealer programmed...not necessarily the remote....

not sure, but I don't think it is anything you actually do...more like a code the two objects 'decide' upon using...kind of like garage doors on a randomized code...you don't enter the code...the remote and base 'agree' on what it should be...

just a thought...

question

How do a key and remote only work together. I know that sounds stupid, lemme explain. My girl went out to the car while i was in the john. She used her remote to get in the car. When i came out i got in and MY key wouldn't turn. I hit unlock on MY remote, and bang the key turns, car starts. I just wondered since her remote was programmed when i only had one key. How does that work ? ?
