B&m Sts

Hey...any of y'all got the B&M sts? i'm between the pacesetter and b&m and notice not too many folks have it, but it's supposed to be quality stuff. why pacesetter over b&m? price and adjustibility over quality (think i answered my own question)?

I have the B&M shifter and it's pretty good so far. Good quality, no notchiness, springs back to centre when in neutral, comes with it's own removable billet shift **** and is between Pacesetter and Stillen in price. It's a complete replacement unit and is not adjustable. I give it a 9 out of ten. Best price I've seen so far is $135, if I recall correctly.

I was in between B&M and Pacesetter back when I was getting mine. I went with Pacesetter because it's cheaper and adjustable. I've had it for few month and I love it. Good quality, works great. It was a little hustle to put it on, but not bad.

We put the pacesetter in my car yesterday. It is VERY stiff. I am about ready to just pour a bucket of grease on it. Hopefully it will break in within a few days.

But overall, I like it. The throws are amazingly short. For $60, you can't lose.

This is the best I've seen. Looks like they've gone up since I last checked them though. There's also a picture of it on the site.

jegs.com has the b&m for 140 shipped. think i saw it somewhere else for a lil cheaper. just did an internet search for b&m 45087 and it brought back spots that carried it. i'll let you know if i find it cheaper.

I had the same problem during my install. It was so tight the neutral spring had no effect. Problem was the fulcrum ball was too large in diameter. I had to shave the ball down to size to make it fit right. Total pain in the ***. Overall slightly notchy but way better than stock as far as throw length. I'm very happy with it.

I was deciding between both of those STS's and ended up getting the Pacesetter because it was cheaper in price and adjustable. Personally, I was looking for a more fluid throw and I didn't get with it the Pacesetter, although, it's definitely a huge improvement over the stock throw.

Eenis.... i just went through this about a week ago. bought my b&m from summitracing...put it in by myself...took awhile like 3-1/2 hrs., novice about these things. before tighting up everything i had my neighbor look it over. why didnt he help...well he had to watch his 10 month-old son.

anyway i think u will like it, mine is still a little stiff but given its suppose to be a shifter for racing/performance its probably just the nature of things.

if u decide to do it yourself and have any questions pm or email me and i will try to help in any way i can.

oh yeh!! if all possible find a helping hand.
