I feel like my 2001 Maxima GXE turned in a smaller circle than my 2002 Maxima SE.

I really feel lit coming from my Honda Accord. That thing felt like a go kart by comparison. It's taking a little getting used to.

I have a nice little scrape on my front bumber to remind me of how $h_tty the turning radius is! If anyone comes up with a cheap and easy fix, POST IT!!! We'd all appreciate it.

As stated before there is an extra bumpstop placed in the wheel well somewhere that stops the car from turning anymore, it has nothing to do with the wheel diameter seeing as though most ppl keep the same overall tire diameter even with larger wheels. There was a thread about this at the beginning of this year and a few guys actually removed teh extra bump stop and had a better turning radius.

Ofcourse you shouldn't have a problem with the turning radius. The 00'-03'GXE/GLE(00'-01')/SE(00'-01') with the stock 16" should have a much smaller turning radius compare to the 01'-03' 5th gen SE/GLE with 17" wheels.
(as mentioned, 35.2 vs. 40.0)

I removed the bump stops on my 2002 last month, then replaced them after I saw it made absolutely NO difference. There must be something else besides the bump stop that prevents the wheels from turning.

The stops may be there for a reason, maybe to save the PS pump or steering rack from wear.. admittedly it moved the TINIEST bit more with the stops removed, but not enough to notice when turning. I could see that with the car still up on jacks, that the wheels could turn barely 1mm more than without the bump stop, which was negligible. Yes it sucks.

I have no problem with the Max's turning radius. Punch the gas, put the wheel hard over and slam on the brakes. The backend will come around and you will be going the other direction immediately.

My friend has a grand cherokee and that thing turns on a time....or else it seems that way compared to the maxima. My ex drive a SLK230 and that small *** thing could do a u turn in 1.5 lanes, but that is a tiny *** sport car.
