Ignition Coil PN#/cost question

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2 part numbers on the Coil TSB is?

They list the 22448-2Y000/22448-2Y005 set or 22448-2Y001/22448-2Y006 set
and the second set is listed on the sites I checked as $65/coil, the first set is $50/coil.

Is set one for Y2K and the second for Y2K1 or is the second just better?

Thanks in advance.

There is a TSB for knocking and pinging, unfortunately I lost my documents in a computer crash. I had my coilpacks replaced under the service bulletin within the 3/36 bumper to bumper.

The dealer service played dumb until I hit them with the TSB #.

Do a search for knocking and pinging.

I got my new coils at 36K, they are covered in the 60K powertrain.

if you are out of warranty or just want to buy some, call Dave B. I was considering buying them before the dealer gave me some to shut me up anyway, Dave's price as a reasonable $mid-200 per set as I recall.

so were you guys able to replicate the problem?
I took mine in a while back. I explained the problems/ symptoms, but they asked me to replicate the noise and what do ya know I took the mechanic for a ride and it would not make the noise. I did not have the tsb at the time.
Did you guys do anything else besides show the tsb?

they dont have to replicate the problem as per the TSB. Its based on what you say.

I simply went in and said I hear ticking under heavy acceleration and get some hesitation. Also that I've used premium gas and have reciepts if they wish to see them. Which as true.

Unfortunately, the rough idle is still there. But I *think* I'm pulling harder at the top end, which would indicate that my coils were infact whack.

TimW,
I think there was a thread a while back about warranty on coils,
and it was determined that they are only covered under the 36K warranty,
maybe because you were so close to 36K they included it in the grace period.

I'm still under 60K so I will ask the dealer to be sure,
and if they say no I will have to buy them I guess.

UMD_MaxSE,
which part number did you get?

svc mgr... is your check engine light on?

me... no

svc mgr... well im not sure what it may be

me... well heres a nissan issued TSB on the coils... and what my car is doing is the symptoms of the tsb.

svc mgr... im not sure about all that but jsut come by thursday and we will have a tech put the computer on it.

oh, I didnt mention that 2 other dealers locally jerked me around for 2.5 years about my symptoms, even before the TSB. But I recently found a good dealer 45 mins away. He asked me if I knew what my car was, a a32 or a33. I said A33 and I guess that impressed them. Dunno.

Seriously, sometimes you just have to drive out to another dealer. This one is in a tiny college town, SM is young and pretty cool. Techs are really serious and dont treat me like an idiot. Its almost surreal. Nissan would be around #4 under Lex, Acura and Infiniti if all the dealers were like this.

haha, in fact read their front page.. laughed my a$$ off

yeah, at 250mph.. it takes me alittle longer than 6 mins.

yeah the local dealership where i live is perty cool, but the dealer ship i went to is the one thats perty close to where i work, practicly next door... plus i thinks its perty bad when alot of the salemen know a lil more than the ppl at the service desk. The guy that sold me the car knew his stuff perty good and even told me about some of the TSBs on my car when i bought it and i got a few of them fixed such as the tranny and trunk lid... but since then theve hired a few new ppl in the service dept that are perty stupid when it comes to cars.
