Got his show off @$$ kicked, by my 4 door family sedan! Why do they try?????

Both turning left onto the freeway. He is so confident his Stang will whip my @$$. Green... he is in the inside corner, I am on the outside corner. He gets a good headstart as he was in the inside. I pass him as he is shifting into third and he got a good look at my MAXIMA.ORG sticker as I pass him , seconds later he gets into the fast lane as if he was going to pass me but the buslengths between us humbled him.

Now those are cars to race with the Max, I am afraid to try most other decent cars

 

how close of a race was it? cuz this punk in a v6 stick thinks he can take this 4 door. and i laugh in his face everytime, but i havent raced him yet. when i do i wanna know by how many car lenghts i can beat him by.

 

are you kidding? If he's stock (and w/ v6 he probably is) you're going to have a hard time figuring out how to measure your lead, but try this.... football fields, minutes, days, miles, light years... (you get the idea)

as in "I was 2 (fill in the blank) ahead of him at the end of the race."

 

those cars are not fast. you are going to blow him away. even if he modded (but still n/a) you should beat him, even if you are stock. those things put out low hp numbers and even higher 1/4 miles numbers

 

I had this kid in a V-6 stang at a light. I wasn't even in my '02, I was in my '98 I-30, the light turned green and I waited a second to see if he got on it and he did, I gave it some gas to keep up with him, he looked over and smiled, i waved at him and floored it....see ya, no contest. I think these guys figure their cars are like the GT's. Will they ever learn.

 

i have a 2k2 auto, i just wanted to bet him approximately how many cars i can beat him by? i was thinking about 2-3 cars to 60 cuz i dont torque brake.

 

let's say you do 0-60 in 6.5 and he does it in ??? (I'll guess 7.5 but I think that's low). At 60 you're doing 88 feet per second, so your 1 second lead is 88 feet. Your car is 16 feet long, so it's more like 5.5 car lengths.

Of course, all of this is rounded, and I did straight algebra instead of using calculus and taking into account he's not actually going 60 when you are. Believe it or not, he's going to be FURTHER back, but I wanted to make this easy.

Tell him you'll win by 4 cars and let him think you're kidding, then act surprised when you beat him by 6 lengths.

I think most mustangs are very over rated cars, notice i didnt say ALL i said MOST. the other day on my way to class i was stopped at a red light and this guy i know with a about a 90-92 5.0 mustang pulls up next to me. i had just like passed him messin around with him and just in case he wanted to run from this light i dropped my auto to 1st. well the light turns green and i waited a second to see if he was gonna run...well he guns it and i do the same....i had a steady hard pull on him until i had to shut down for a car in front of me. we probably only ran up to about 50 miles per hour if that, if we had kept going i would have had about 2 cars on him by 65-70 easy. i didnt think i could take him off the line like that, expecially not in a 2k1 auto....but i did it. i shut down and he went passed and then when i passed him again he was yellin out the window askin me what i had under the hood. and yes his was a 5.0, and yes i did beat him with a good steady pull from the start. i didnt think i would win as bad as i did but hey i guess i underestimated my max.

 

i'd keep an eye out for mods before placing bets. those mustangs have a fairly religous following of good ol' american mucsle-heads and have for decades longer than the accord even existed. hence they have a reasonably good selection of aftermarket boost options, albeit somewhat less technological and more mechanical. and yes, i'm talking about the v6, which of course can use all the help it can get. with bolt ons i don't think they stand a chance.

i don't race nearly as much as some of the other .orgers here and i certainly know less about the mechanics of cars. but what i know is a slow car when i see/drive one, and them v6s are slow cars.

 

Race him, no worries at all! Ask him if you should tease him when he hits his speed limiter and you are just toying with him.
