Air suspension?

I know there is at least one car in here with some sort of air suspension, but the question is, are there more?

My other question is, if the Max can use coil overs, then there should be a way to get a product like http://www.airride.com/catalog2001/page18.shtm to work. Any thoughts?

For the air suspension try www.southwestautoworks.com and talk to Alex.

www.southwestautoworks.com - 602 795 1800 ask for alex, tell him jason sadler sent you.

for your car, air struts (bag over strut) in front and air cylinders in rear. For the 5th gen's alex kit drops around 5-6 inches in the front and around 6.5 or so in the rear. Everything is direct bolt on and if you can change your springs/struts and wire a switch you are good to go.

nvmymax2 is a member on here that had a custom air setup from the hack shack in cali, his was lower than alex's but he also chopped up his rear axle quite a bit.

I have a 98 on bags in front and cylinders in rear from alex, check out the general forum for a thread with recent pictures posted of my car or the main page www.maxima.org (that's me MOTM).

Why do you have to use cylinders in the back? Don't cylinders give a harsh ride or is comparable to the bags? I am not too familiar with my suspension setup yet, but aren't there struts all the way around?

Depends which to which your comparing...Some coilovers suck some are great all around...Ive only ever heard of bags being pretty mushy and buick like, but I bet sombody has a good set.

Did you ever call and talk to the guy at southwestautoworks.com? Were you planning on getting bags, or were you just asking if there are any around?

It was more a curiousity than anything. I used to have a lowrider truck, that rode pretty firm. I want to drop the max, and the experience from the truck makes me want to consider bags. The only problem with bags is the tank that takes up so much room in the trunk. With a mild stereo system and an airbag setup, there isn't much room in the trunk for anything else.

I do know for sure, that if I decide to go really low, then bags is what I will do. You can't be the ride quality, and instant adjustability.
