racing last night

Driving home last night i came up on 2 brand new bmw 530i's paper tags on both one black one silver, and a black v-8 lincoln LS . well the light turns green on new york ave in NE D.C. headed towards md beltway , my 5th gen 5spd se and the lincoln pulled real hard ahead of the 2 bmw's and it becomes a race between just me and the lincoln, everytime i reached 4500-5000 rpms i would pull slightly ahead of him until i shifted, was a good race but around 110-125 i would slowly walk away from him, by now the bmw's were way behind and im happy i beat a domestic v-8. didnt know they were so fast and the bmw's were so slow.

nice kill
i love those LS's they are so pimp, but they have to be black
i dont think those 540's were trying, maybe for the first couple gears but thats it, they have a decent amount of power and should have hung with you guys fairly easy. next time you line with a bmw just make sure you dont see the fearful M logo.

nope, they have 225 hp and also weight about 150 lbs. more than a Max....only thing they have going for them (straight line) is nice gearing (manuals)...

1. see above.

2. newer Mark 8? Where did this come into the picture? They have not been made since '98. He spoke of the LS.

LOL, Confusion reigns within this thread

I think the 530s could give the '00/'01 Max some trouble. The '02/'03 could beat the 530s. Not that I've ever raced them...just a logical estimate...

a markVIII is nothing. my dad has a 2000 continental with the same 4.6 275 hp v8 and both cars weigh in at close to 2 tons. my car is father than his due to weight, and how the automatics are geared for comfort and not performance.

Apparently, we've now lost at least two org members to mindless street racing. Are you on track to be the third?
