Just posting facts man. The 3.5L auto guys just don't want to believe it. Yet none of them have ran against a 2k1 5spd with all bolt ons on the highway at the speeds in question.

I believe getting pulled on yea but not freakin 6 car lengths. I have not said once I would not be beaten but I know it wouldn't be over 2 car lengths.

You would lose by around 2 cars with your mods. Significatly more if you were stock. Race a 2k1 5spd with my mods and find out as I said a few pages back.

what a joke, how can you call it a race when the other guy starts out behind you.

Notice he didn't call it a "race"....he said "quick run".....and he was simply sharing an experience...you can tell when another car floors it on the highway by the rate in which they either leave you...or you leave them...

BTW...in bracket RACING the faster car starts out BEHIND the slower car...same thing in Nascar...faster qualifying cars start out in the front...slower in the back....

You of all people should not be envious.
Personally, I'm jealous of the 4th gen styling and feel. The 4th gen 5 speed felt awesome to drive. Sportier without sacrificing ride. And I also think 4th gen styling is timeless, or at least more so than 5th gen. I will always like the way 4th gen looks, but 5th gen is already getting old; good thing they are changing it next year.

Sorry, I know that was way OT.

trust me.. when i am buying a new car.. it won't be a maxima.. won't want to get screwed on resale value actually i am lookign towards a 330CI in the near future.. i bought my 4th Gen for a quick A to B practical commuter.. and its turned into a mod fest.. quite fankly if i still felt the same way about my maxima.. i would have traded it in and paid the difference(the money i wasted in mods) and bought a brand new 2k3 .. if and when i get a new car.. i am not getting rid of my maxima.. this is my project baby.. and so she shall stay.. until i get bored with her.. then and only then shall i let her go

but anyway.. 2 years after the 6th Gen comes out.. some one is goign to play the envy card on your 5th Gen owners too

And they might be right, Sprint......

I had a '90 (loved the size) and a '96. The '96 was a great car (not the best year for the 4th gens though) but I do like the power of my car now and the added features (auto front windows, stuff like that). Most of all the engine HP. As much as I love it, I might be looking longingly at the 2K5 with it's 350HP RWD.

2k2 vs 2k

hell i have a 2k 5sp, and i raced a silver 2k2 auto we were both stock, and i beat him, i could pull on him in every gear once i reached around 4500 rpm... only beat him by half a car though.

Hey Bugman.... You talk a lot of **** about all your mods against a stock car. Now let me finish my mods over the winter, they will be the same ones you got. then lets talk race, lets talk show, hell lets just talk.

In fact, dont wait for me, go talk to Ethan, ask him to run you. Let's see where all that "power" is when you go from.... a roll, or a line, or hell I am sure he can give you 2 and the brake.

I can't wait till someone with an auto makes the same mods as well. Then lets match that up.

I am only bringing these facts up because you are talking mad crap, and cant back it up. You are either too far away, or you dont have a time slip to show your times. Either way, just get ready to back up what you talk.

Boy, you really would've walked the Audi S4 6 spd that I ran from 80-130 from side by side. He ended up 3/4 of a car in front of me by the time we got to 130. You would've beat him by over 5 car lengths! He probably would've been upset to see a Maxima bullet past him.

People can believe what they want, but the guy was trying to keep up with me. I dont know why people are skeptical....If you look at my traps vs 2k2 traps, mine are higher. They will get me down the 1/4 though Damn 3.5VQ torque......Im jealous

I've raced various guys on this board. Both of which run high 14's at the track. Walked them easily in third and fourth. I'm keeping my warranty and not kicking the crap out of my car by bring it to the track with hard launches or clutch slips with damn wheel hop that is going to destroy my motor mounts etc... I run for the fun of it.

I'm not getting in this Pi$$ing contest....

But I've noticed quite a few people are saying stock 2K/2K1's are getting traps of 94+, and with intake/y-pipe they are getting 95-96 MPH.

What is the deal with my car then???

14.761 @ 93.09 MPH

That is w/o the UDP by the way. Just intake/y-pipe. Why is my trap so low?

How is going to the track going to void the warranty. Anyone can race from a roll.....Launching is the hardest part.

Guys, My cousin has a 2002 Auto, so does my Niece.. I Havn't raced her but I did race my cousin. FROM 0-130 on the HWY

His car is Dead Stock, My car has the mods listed below

We both left from a Toll Plaza in Miami side by side on the turnpike. From 0-135, I beat him by a good 4-5 cars. I started pulling on him right from the start. His bumper never got beyond my front door.

Oh Yeah, last year at Maxus, My car Trapped 96+ all day in the 14.8 mark. I only had 1 trap of 74mph, That was my mistake, I didn't know where the finish line was

Now John a friend of mine has a Stock 2002 6spd. He just got married last week and is out on his Horny Moon, but when he gets back, we'r gonna race and get it on tape see how bad I loose to the 02, Keep you all posted.

Hey PINOEER,

How is it going?

good run.

Aren't 2002 Auto run like mid to high 14s stock. So that should be pretty close to modded 2000 5-speed.

Hey, yeah I really like them. Car looks 100% better, no more SUV look. It handles better too. I decide to go with factory shocks, after talking to you. They seemed to do a good job.

Faster????? I'm faster than almost all the NA 4th and 5th gens in this Org. I ran 97.79mph in the 1/4 WITHOUT my VI. My traps are typically in the 96-97mph rnge without the VI. Faster and quicker are two different things. "Faster" shows available power and "quicker" is an indication of traction (something I don't get much of). As you can see, my rather slow 14.68 is because of my spinning 2.30 60'. After my car eventually hooks up, it flys....for a NA V6 sedan anyways. I've now got the VI and I'm making +20fwhp at 6000rpms and +50fwhp at 6500rpms. That's a lot of additional power for a 3000lb car. I'm pretty certain I'll be getting some +99mph trap speeds at the track once I get my RPM switch back. 99-100mph trap speeds is what the quickest modded 6 speeds are running, not the 2k2s. At the track, I don't strip my car like some guys do. The only thing I remove is the spare.

I'd love to run you and I'm pretty certain once I get to the top of 2nd gear, you'll be getting a good look of my badgeless rearend

Trash talking aside, I think the 2k2 auto is light years faster than the 2K1 auto. The main reason the 2k2 is so much quicker is because it's making an extra ~20fwhp and ~25fwtq. That's very significant. I think the 2k2 auto would be a very quick car if Nissan would throw in a 5 speed auto. The stock 4-speed gearing is just way too tall.

I am curious to see what my traps will be in cooler weather I trapped 93 in 90+ weather stock so I am curious to see how much the weather affects my traps. I have a intake and udp now also and 15's to run on.

I use to race a lot from dead stop with the max but I keep reading about all the problems. Tire wear, motor mounts, clutch etc... Not worth it. Also I live in a small city that last thing I need is my warranty voided if they find out that I have had my car at the race track.
I'm not getting paid to race. These are random encounters. I don't hang out in parking lots with a bunch of kids talking about cars and going out racing.
