Pick a Front Strut Bar!

To anyone who wants to help,

I got my Maxima 2002 SE manual at Jun 11 of this year, I'm looking for the front strut bar to improve the handle because I got beat up by a 330CI on a curve road..

I believe that the front Strut bar is the first mod for most of the maxima owner.

I think CourtesyNissan and Stillen which are the most recomanded, no question about it.

But I also found some strut bars were sold in the ebay, like Racesonic
and Red Line. Did anyone has some experience with them? Their selling price is from $12 to $45 which is very good price.

Did anyone has any scam or bad experience with them?

Please reply, thanks!

I got a 'BOMZ' FSTB from directcarparts on Ebay about 3 weeks ago. I think it was about $48 delivered. No fitment problems whatsoever. Very pleased with the service - quick shipping, no scam. Looks good, seems to be made well, very solid.

There are several that will fit but the difference they will make is subtle.. Sure not going to make your Max handle like a BMW.

I'm in the same boat... Don't know about those places you mentioned. I'm kind of waiting for the Cattman one but I'm current considering a Vibrant Performance one.
You can special order it from www.expressautoparts.com (from which I have bought stuff before with no problems) or try www.contemporarymotorsport.com (don't know much about them but they have it for $28+shipping though).

Bought the Stillen FSTB about 3 months ago and installed it at the same time as my Addco RSB. WHAT a feeling The difference is felt drastically on the turns. Stillen had no fitment issues and has worked well. If you want the looks, Stillen is the way to go, if you don't care, go with a generic one. They are all pretty much functionaly the same.

Do the sway bar first. It will make a bigger difference.

this is what emax told me to do (all of which i still haven't done) :

FSB
RSB
245 series tires
shocks
struts
springs

that will be more like the BMW, but it still won't compare...the maxima can't compare to our ///M......

RSB should be first handling mod. Nothing other than full suspension will give more of an improvement.

Re: Pick a Front Strut Bar!

I passed that 330CI twice on a straight highway first.
(I guess he is mad about how can that happen twice by a Maxima..)

But I just can't keep up with him when turning a narrow curve (The highway exist).

My SE trim has the sport-tuned suspension. Should I do the RSB first or the Eibach spring after the FSB? I had the Eibach spring on my last car, I can increase 20km/h (12mph) on the same corner compare to the stock spring. Also it is not too bumpy when driving normally.

Thanks Bluesbrekr and szechingyu218 about the BOMZ strut bar info, I think I will go for the BOMZ as well.

Also thanks everyone to submit the comments too!

Along with the FSTB, you might want to consider a RSTB too. But before you get either of those, I would highly recommend investing in a RSB first. It will make a much noticeable difference than the other 2 combined.

I just purchased and installed the DirectCarParts/BOMZ Racing one. The install was very easy. I think I have some slight rubbing in reverse. I will fix that later as it is only an issue when I accelerate hard in reverse. I definately felt a difference. Not BMW like, but pretty good for a FWD. I did the Buy it Now for $12 plus $12 shipping. I would recommend that instead of waiting to bid and saving $1. Good luck.
