Screeching noise at start up

do any of you have this problem?

when I start the car in the morning, it makes a terrible screeching noise for about 2 seconds.

Sometimes, it does that even when the car is warm.

Any ideas?

Lose belts?

I had similar problem. It was worse in humid days. Dealer replaced all the belts under warranty and that solved it.

ya probably the belts... does ur car stay outside?

The dealer service rep said

it's probably because my car sits outside, and moisture collects on the belt while it's sitting.

It doesn't make any sound when the car is warm. Only after it's been sitting for a while.

I think the service rep is right this time for once
