Aside from that everyone on this board should know that Turbo is a nice thing to have specially when it spools up and thats one of his mods. Had he raced SR20 the outcome would have been different. I raced a 2K2 Altima spraying70 and he waxed me very hard. I dont run 12s but heck if you have not seen a one of the 3.5L Nissans run on spray maybe we need to have a get together at the track and see how much power those freaking things put out

One more thing I should have taken my video camera last nite as I myself raced a Prelude w/ a large hood scoop and a big NOS sticker on it. I am puzzled why after I beat him once he did not want any more.

 

What size pulley are you runing?

 

a Healthy 3.25 seeing 10 PSI at the Boost Gauge

 

I have ridin in matts car at the track he ran a 13.3 @ 110 and grinded 2nd. It was insane going through 5 gears in the 1/4

Someone stated that the Max was the fastest FWD sedan ever.

Me being the runt that I am brought of the Dodge Spirit R/T '90 '91 '92. ? could get 0-60 stock 5.8 and 14.3 or close to that, and I also saw times of 5.4 stock. If you lightly mod them and change tires, they can really open a can of whoop A@@ on most cars.

Sprint she got a pHaT backside which looks a hell of a lot better than a 5th gens and even a 4th gen.

yes in 5th gear ask him for yourself. I think approx at 4700 rpm in 5th as he crossed the line . to answer jays ? yes he ran a 13.3 with me in the car and grinded 2nd also. His car is insane and with traction is a 12.7 car easily maybe quicker.

 

2k-2k1 5spd 4th gear is maxed out at 125mph I believe.

 

just to clear it up a little he is on 15" rims with only 22" slicks and only getting 2.15 60's thats why i say his car has 12.7 or quicker runs in it.

 

On the RE92's I am nearing the end of 4th @ 110 (which goes to exactly 120MPH on those tires). With the 22" slicks I have to go to 5th before I cross the line.

I was just going to post something to that effect. Any one purchasing a 1 y/o or older VW should also buy a big roll of duct tape. A number of my friends with late model VWs constantly complain about things like pwr windows that stop working intermittently and sequentially.

Back to the 1.8T, a turbocharger is a significant advantage when it comes to performance mods. That said, I wonder how well a boosted Max (a la VQ35DET) would do.

 

finally got the link to work, Turbo or Nitrous Maximas will beat this car on a street race. On the track that would be a different issue since traction is a bisch. Never the less a boosted 2k2 will see the 1.8T in the rear view mirror. Good race

 

I watched this so called race in work (nothing beats a good T-1 conncetion).

It appears that both cars are going rather slow, even when the so called race begins.

I would think that the Max driver had his auto in 'D' and the auto was in a high gear 3rd or 4th, when he punched it, too high of a gear to get it to take off.

I have a G35 and if I am on a roll and punch it, it usually takes off, but too make sure I put it in the manual mode and drop to 2nd or 3rd gear, that way I know I am in the right gear to move the car.

When the Max driver apparently punched it, it does not look like he takes off at all, if that were my car, you would have seen the car take off, the Max does not appear to take off, but just speed up.

Nah man. A 2k2 6spd with an intake would put a lot of modded 1.8T to shame. Especially out on the highway.

 

I wonder could the auto lagged on him. That's the case with the automatic sometimes. When you stomp on it, it won't downshift and lags. It has happened to me numerous times.

That is SUCH a BS race. I had a buddy that went to HS w/ me and 1 day after school we descided to make a run. I might have took him by atleast 5 or 6 cars And I didnt have anything under the hood and AUTO!!!!
