Damn...The Cougar was SLOW
Comming home at 1am, I noticed this dark colored Cougar in front of me. Didn't think anything of it until he gives it some gas hearing his loud *** crooked muffler sticking out with I'm estimating 5" tips. He slows down to speed limit; I usually go 5mph over so I moved onto the next lane accelerating sticking my headout the window slightly and hear my ghetto intake growl. I get a glance at his rear windshield sticker "Fear This" in a similar font to Microsoft Words "Chiller" and some chromies, factory chromies to be exacted. He gives it some gas, I think flooring it while I was right next to him. Ummm
I was caught dead at 35mph in the worst possible gear, 2nd gear. He couldn't even pull away LOL! Once I approached 50mph, I started to pull HARD and slowed down at 70mph still about 3-4car lengths ahead. This bish decides to try again, ummkay. No more racing for me that night. So I let him go and get into his lane as soon as he takes off. Bish SLAMS on his brakes wtf
I slamed on mine hard enough to engage the ABS tires squealing like a **** then the Cougar driver hits his gas as we enter a tunnel. I can still hear his ricey exhaust as I enter a tunnel. I slam on my gas just to hear the intake, I see **** hit his brakes
I guess he got scured and was thinking wtf was that?
What do these things run like high 16's for automatics? Is there a Cougar forum so I can post this and hope that Cougar I raced will respond because I'm still sorta PO'd.
This story is about one of many Cougars I've raced but...Why do Cougar along with Avenger drivers always instigate me to race? Is it because of my ricey purple headlights? My purple Neon lights? My Home Depot Grill? My Intake? Or that they think I have some sorta exhaust because it gets raspy and loud (from the rear) when I turn off o/d and keep the revv's around 1,800-2,200 (about 35-40mph) Maybe if I put my clear corners back on, they might think I'm a high roller fast as hell import...

Don't get too excited about that kill, many of them had the 2.0 4 cyl with 130 hp, at best it had a 170hp 2.5 v6, most all of them had an auto.
Before my max I had a 97 Contour with the 2.5 v6 and 5 speed, it was pretty quick, it ran mid 15's.

I know what you mean man. I've had a couple Cougars around here try and start something. But they are slower than dog ****. I don't know when Ford decided to take the sporty path with the Cougar, but when they did, they forgot the power part. Thank god it got canned.
You can check NECO forums (New Edge Cougar Owners) at www.fastcougar.com/forums. The owner of the site visits here sometimes as Fast Cougar, so be nice
.
I met a guy in SMS class who drove a new style Cougar. Nice guy, 6'3" 230, definitely not a chick.

.I have some dents on the hood that I was going to try it on. I want to get the dents fixed first, but there was a carbon-fiber hood deal in the works, so I was waiting for that. Then I checked my bottle of touch-up paint and it's all goopy and dried up, so I have to go buy another bottle. And my car is dirty so I'd have to wash it first, but it's been raining a lot in Houston so I can't do that either.
Some other people have used it and commented that it works pretty well if you use it correctly.
