I35 Trunk Lockout!!
I35 Trunk Lockout!!
As some of you may or may not have noticed the i35 took off the key option of opening the trunk... arguably, not really all that useful in 2002 since pretty much all cars have some means of remotely opening the trunk, and that key. I don't have too much of a problem with this. After all, even if your battery goes dead, it can be charged/etc, and that keyhole is pretty ugly anyways....
Here's what makes no sense though: they still have the trunk lockout feature on the lock. I learned this when something accidentally in my trunk pressed it down.... I actually had to split down the seats and crawl through to pull the emergency release inside the trunk!
Now what if I had locked out the split down seats? Conceivably I could completely lock myself out of the trunk! What's worse: why are these features even in the car if there's no way to open the trunk without the remote? They really shoulda removed those!
I wonder what the dealer would do if someone got locked out of the trunk?! lol
