BTW, since you mentioned it, i get crappy service. they charged me $42(half an hour) to reset the air bag. and they told me they couldn't, it had to be furthered diagnosed to figure out what the problem was. so i ended up paying $42 for no reason!!!! it may not be much, but if they give me this crappy service... imma soon be paying half the value of the car!!!

that's how they get you at the dealership. I took my car in today and they want to charge me $299 for the drive + Ac belt for parts and labor. So i brought the two belts at www.pinniclenissan.com one for 12.99, 13.99 and going to install them myself.

My dealer (Beaverton, Oregon) charges $75/hr. It seems like a lot, but so far, they have done a good job for me. No hassles.

A lot of dealerships have raised rates into the $80+ area, KC, MO included. But, if you are a good customer and get in good w/ one of your local dealerships, many times they will give you "VIP" rates if you ask. I only pay $71/hour.

My suggestion is to go in and find what seems to be a "cool" service manager and talk to him. Let him know you'd rather get Nissan service; but you can get most of the same work done numerous other shops for $65.

See if he won't work you out a bargin for repeat business... it worked for me!

I second TimW's question, why did you pay, I believe that you have an 02 Max right? They should have taken care of this for you, hopefully you did not tell them that the light being on was your fault.

when they performed a test it failed, and they said they had to replace some chips... something with the air bag.. im not exactly sure. he knew i got into an accident. but i didn't tell him that i got into an accident. i mean i understand if they could just reset the air bag light, and charge me, i would understand. but they couldn't even fix it. he told me that the problem has to be furthered diagnosed, and they charged me anyways... what kinda service is that.. and yes i do have an 02, but i got into an accident. i am not comlaining, but they should at least be generous and not charge me of what they can't even do!!!! BTW, i was reimbursed from the insurance company.

P.S. i would be happy at least $75/hr. what is the reason for jacking up the labor??? logically... wouldn't less cars be fixed then? meaning the business isn't going to do so well.. and people will start complaining??

P.S. i would like to send a letter very similar to hollywoods nissan service letter!
