Lights everywhere?

I just bought the CustomMaxima's clear bumpers. The rears look terrible at dark with the stock bulb. Are there any red bulbs available for the rear that are good? What do I have to buy? Are the fogs hard to change? How do I change them? Is the turn signal light hard to change? How do I change that one? Sorry for all the questions. I just want a better looking light system

Damn partner you just laid out a bunch of questions.

You can get RED 194 bulbs from your local auto store to make it red if you want in the rear, or get Hyper White 194 bulbs made by Polarg or PIAA.

The Fogs are not that hard to change. http://www.5thgenmaximas.com/foginstall.html

Turn signal in the front is not hard, just get your hand behind it and turn the socket counterclock wise to get it out. And then change the bulb.

look in your owner's manual, too. there's an ok diagram in there for exactly where the turn signal bulbs are, and what part of it turns, etc.

if you can't find them locally, http://www.sounddomain.com stocks pretty much any color of the corner and bumper bulbs you want, including the "titan" ones that are silver when not lit (look better by day).

put red LED bulbs in the back...they look hot. I put regular red bulbs in first and it looked kind of pinkish and ugly.

Who makes the best red bulbs? Do you think it would be better to get the hyper whites?

does it say 80watt DRAW or 80 light output? Cause PIAA usually writes that it draws 55watts but can put out equivalent of 85W.

even then 80W DRAW would be fine on the stock harness.

BigDog is right. They only draw 55w, but put out the equivalent of 85.. I have Piaa Super Plasma , in my fogs. They are expensive, but worth it. They are the ones with the purpleish mirror tint on the bulb... I have amber and red LED bulbs in my clears and they look awesome !

I have the LED's from Midnight Moose, they look real good. I have the amber and red ones. At night, they look like stock markers that have been blacked-out. During the day, you really can't see them. I have night pics that I can post. I just have to upload them.

Are these the 194 LEDs? They are just "plug and play"? Thanks!

Yes, they are the 194 LED's.

And yes, they are "plug and play". But you need to make sure that you have the LED in the right way in the socket, because unlike filament bulbs, they have positive and negative leads, versus just needing current to work. So if they don't work the first time, spin 'em around and check again.

I just ordered them. Thanks. I'm assuming that led's will last longer than the bulbs correct?

A lot longer.. Here's a quote from midnightmoose.com

The lifespan of LED bulbs is VASTLY increased compared to their halogen counterparts. LED bulbs last anywhere from 10,000 to 100,000 hours. That’s like driving 24 hours a day with the light on for almost 12 years! Replacing burnt out bulbs is a thing of the past with LED’s

While I agree that the LED's last longer, it also depends on where you got them. Before the MM set, I had purchased the marker and license LED's off of eBay from God knows who. Yeah, those were done in about a month.

Now the MM LED's? So far, so good. It's been about 4 months. I'd better knock on wood...

Why is it illegal to drive around with white lights in the clear corners anyways?

It's all about standardizing. I find it hard to believe that you would get pulled over for the back markers being white since most cars don't even have them. Even with Red LED's it's still against the law, but your less likely to have a problem.
