Got a WRX a couple days ago

Dear all,

I m planning to return my 2k1 Max back to stock, since from now on I will focus most of the time on my new WRX. Sorry to say that but I think the WRX has more potential for serious performance (i.e. to make it a 12s car or even faster), although I have to admit the Maxima is more refined overall.

If you are interested in some resonably "new" performance mods (Greddy EVO, Cattman Y-pipe, KYB AGX, etc).. I m selling them all at a really good price. See the following link for details.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=169913

Have a nice Thanksgiving to everyone in the ORG.

Thanks,
Skylinesf

No need to state the obvious

Congrats on the WRX and good luck selling your parts

Yeah the new 2004 ones have that cool pseudo-RSX type front end. I don't know what Subaru was thinking with that previous bug-eyed frontend.

Peace

Wow...is that really what the '04 looks like. BIG improvement. I may actually be able to supress the gag reflex, now, when a WRX drives by. Good luck with your purchase.

sweet interior. when is the 04 coming out? i would think sometime mid-late 03. the 1st generation WRX has some styling issues, this new one (which i think is the STI, the base WRxs will not look the same) kicks ***. look at those seats! then again, the lancer is coming out real soon, with the 4g63 motor, the same one that has talons and eclipses in the 10s. should be interesting!!

Mine is just the bug-eyed version WRX. I know STi is sweet, but I just can't stand the tempataion after driving my friend's WRX and racing with him with "huge loss".

For stock to stock comparison, I figure out only the 02 and on 6-speed MAxima may kill the WRX in terms of straight road performance. However, the WRX can be crazily fast if you spend a couple grands in fixing it up. My 01 auto Max is just too far away from my target.

Next year there will be a couple more selelctions other than the Suby. Mazda will come up with a similar car (AWD + Turbo), and not to mention the Evolution from Diamond Star. But for under 20k, I think the Neon SRT-4 will be an excellent deal. However, the front-wheel drive powertrain turns me off.

I dont really even like the way that WRX looks...its a bit too ricey for me. I hate those yellow rims, the interior looks like you're about to go scubba diving, and what the hell is up with that spoiler? That spoiler is rice to the extereme(as many spoilers are). I would rather have a maxima any day of the year than that WRX.

Absolutely horrible spoiler, but the front-end is a big improvement.

You guys do realize that's the STI version of the WRX pictured The regular WRX will not have the yellow wheels, fog light covers, uses a smaller intercooler scoop, no fancy seats, no rally wing.

Take away the gold rims and the spoiler and voila! a wicked car... The spoiler can also be used as a bookshelf, so all in all, it's not a COMPLETE waste... Let's hope the new Lancer isn't plagued with the infamous reliability issues of the 4G63 of yesteryear

i've got a WRX parked in my garage next to my altima. Drive the WRX whenever I feel like driving a real sports sedan, hop in the altima the rest of the time.

That's it...the thread is going to rage out of control now. Eventually, it had to happen.

It's all about trade-offs. Can you put your 3 friends that play offensive line in your WRX? Maybe, but is it comfy? The Altima isn't trying to be a "real sport sedan". It's a people mover that's fun to drive. Both are nice cars, but not a real comparison in my mind. The Altima should be compared to Camry and Accord. You'd be better off comparing the Sentra SE-R to the WRX than the Altima, don't ya think?

I agree. The comparison between the WRX and the Altima is not even appropriate. As of today, there's no competition for the WRX, but when the Lancer Evo 7/8 comes out, it will def give it a run for its money.
