2002 Tail light Installation on 2000 Model

Hey does anyone know if you can just directly replace the stock tailights for a 2000 with the 2002 tail lights. Are the harnesses the same? Is it as easy as dismount stock, unplug, plug in new light, remount. Or are there any complications that I should know about b4 trying.

It is a direct replacement. There are 4, 8mm screws I believe that you can get out with a deep socket. THere is also a clip that needs to be undone. Push out the light from the inside after the screws are out. Its really pretty simple.

well, its SUPER easy.. but the sealant is pure evil. if it werent for the nasty sealant, you could do both sides in 5 mins tops... If you plan on cleaning the sealant off, dont wear anything you like.. and have some mineral spirits close by.

Yeap that sealant is pure evil. When I pulled the light off the car, i had it about 6"s away from the car and there was still a solid crap of sealant between the tail light and the frame of the car.

don't clean off the old sealant

Actually, I found it better not to clean off the old sealant - It's good to help hold the new lights in. I've had my tails on for a while now and no problems, so there's no need to clean it off.

yeah, I ended up cleaning some just by scraping it and only made one pass around the new lights instead of the recommended 2x.
