Some Maxima owners are just plain stupid..

i was shopping this morning with the rest of the crazy nuts out there with all the sales going on, i spot a silver 2002 max in the parking lot, and i go to check it out. looks great and everything, until for some reason i decide to pull the door handle, dont ask me why, i just did, and to my suprise, it was unlocked! i mean what an idiot, i could have ransacked that thing so fast.. but im not like that, so being a nice person and a fellow maxima owner, i locked their doors for them, so people, remember to lock your doors, and dont be stupid, my 2 cents

Better yet...his keys are probably above the sun visor...he probably just locked the owners out of the car.

I have to ask, even though you said not to...Why the heck were you pulling on the door handle?? If I saw someone doing this to my car, I'd go ballistic.

Here in Nevada it is a crime to open the door of an unlocked car without the owners consent; it is called tampering with a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.

Try to curb your questionable habits. Most of us are not very forgiving when we walk outside and see someone else's dirty paws on our cars. If that isn't reason enough, maybe you should remember the golden rule: NEVER MESS WITH ANOTHER MAN'S VEHICLE!

what a strange strange story...you're lucky the owners of the car weren't walking out right then and saw you tugging on their door handle. i'm not sure how well your "i'm not a thief, i was just curious" story would fly...

I agree, touching someones property is a big mistake. People get shot for less. That's a habit you need to loose. One days you're going to try a door handle and get cold cocked in the back of the head.

Yeah, people do get shot for less. And to think, he is from Lancaster, CA. I wonder if he forgets the crime rates for vehicle theft in CA are higher then anywhere else? I probably wouldn't break a knuckle on the back of his empty head, I would probably just choke his sorry a$$ out, and let him explain it to the Police when comes around.

I don't like to flame...

..but WTF possessed you to open the door??????? That "I'm just curious" thing is just about the stupidest bit reasoning I ever heard. Also, you never know the situation. Perhaps the guy's locks were broken and he couldn't get in with the key?

So let me ask you, when you see a woman with a nice butt walking down the street and think "I wonder what that feels like" do you go over and give it a pinch?

From your profile it looks like you're 18. Young, but an adult in the eyes of the law. If you want to have respect for a fellow Maxima owner LEAVE THEIR S^HIT ALONE!!!!

Oh man, the world is getting stupid...let me off

I don't think you were doing the owner a favor. If he is stupid enough to leave his car unlocked, that's his problem. Seriously, if someone did what you did to my car, he would be in a world of s**t.

You weren't doing him a favor...you were just f'ing with his car. Just going and grabbing at the door handle is plain stupid. In my hometown, you could get shot for that.

Here's another reason not to grab door handles. How about that pretty new '03 gets broken into a day or two later and your prints get pulled off the door handle.

he was protecting him, yes its wrong to open the door, but by the flames all of you sound very immature.

I would hate to see someone touch myt car and would probably pound the **** out of his head if i saw him do it, but thats the risk hes gonna take..

All that would make sense if he knew the door was unlocked before he tried to open it. Like, "oh, nice car....whoa...the door looks unlocked...I should really help this guy out and lock his doors."

As compared with, "Oh, nice car...I think I'm going to go try to open the doors." That'll get you shot.

Don't forget a lot of these malls have survielence cameras. They could see you as someone trying to break into cars. USE YOU HEAD MAN, it's not just there to put a ballcap on it.

The Title of your thread is correct, but the guy who left his door open is not the stupid one.

Entering someones car without their consent is F***** UP.
But if you live your car open in a store parking lock Your stuff deserves to get stolen.

I personally don't even appreciate someone touching my car, much less opening my car. Granted, the guy was stupid to leave the car unlocked. I'd gladly f#@ck someone up badly for opening my car without my permission. Then again, I do live in Texas. Just be careful out there, don't get hurt trying to do someone a good deed.

Now I know who's stupid in this string. If you could read Maxima91, then you wouldn't have just said this. You opened the door, you didn't brush-up against the car. Maybe you have a few more issues then we first thought, but hey, thanks for sharing your story.

Has a locked car door ever stopped somone from stealing something out of a car? It's not a dead bolt, they just smash the window. If anything, I would rather someone break into my car and leave the window in tact. When I used to live in the ghetto I had a car window smashed 2 times in one week! At $100 a pop I should have left it unlocked.

Thank GOD I moved

Ok...interesting reply and even more interesting is your description of "jap slap they a$$". Now WTF does this mean? First glance I can take this as a derogatory and an unacceptable ethnic comment.

As a dedicated org member, I appreciated if you were to keep these types of ethnic comments to yourself. Remember, if you drive a Maxima and love the car...YOU ARE DRIVING A JAPANESE CAR!

Thank you

Who here wants to bet that even he does not know what the heck he is talking about. Love the internet, allows for freedom of expression, even if we don't know what that exprsssion means. I doubt if he was trying to be racist. I still agree that we don't need that around here.

Maxima91, it was my car you closed the door for and i am greatfully appreciative. Thanks a million! You are a model citizen in my book.

It was a good thing because there was a dead body in the trunk, and a suitcase on the seat contained $275K cash that i was paid to off that person in the trunk. Who knows what in the world would've happened if some kid would've stolen the car. At least wait til i could've gotten my money out of there.

P.S. Gotta love that incredible trunk space.
