Can we smoke Boxter??

i just saw a 2k2 maxima with greddy were racing a porsche boxter on I-5 South today. they passed me by my driver's side!! at that moment, the maxima was taking the lead like that boxter was at that maxima's passenger side front door. i didn't finish watch them cuz i had to exit at Beach Blvd. i meant, can we win a porsche boxter??

i read this somewhere, and from what ive heard that we can take them on just about every level (low-med-top) ... i believe it was in the edmunds review.

a stock 2k2 won't keep up with a boxster S. they're high 13's to 14 flat cars. even the base boxster runs high mid to high 14's. very very difficult for an auto to keep up with one.

I thought base boxsters were 15 second cars. Something for the posers to buy to impress nobody.

Base Boxsters are SLOW.... No match for a Max, unless it's the twisties.... The Boxster - S is a different story...

There's a big difference between a Boxster and a Boxster "S." 2K2 or 2K3 Maximas with manual transmission can outrun the regular Boxster, but not the Boxster S. The one you saw was most likely a regular Boxster. Easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the exhaust outlet; if there's one pipe, it's a regular Boxster.

in taiwan, they tried to sell the 2k-2k1 maximas by showing ads where the max out accelerated the base boxster in the 0-60 mph run.

the slogan was: "want a 4 door sedan that can beat a porsche?"

i dunno about highway runs though

but if a 2k-2k1 can do it... i'm sure a 2k2 can

Looks like a 6spd max with some minor tweeks is quicker then a boxter S.

Would a intake, w/ full exhaust work do it? (Y pipe, cat, B-pipe, etc.)

You could take a non-S Boxter in a straight line, but if the road takes a bend, you're screwed.

how is a car that runs 14.7 in the quarter "no match" for a 2k2? auto's can't touch that...there are plenty of manuals that run around there...
