Cheap FSTB A++

I put in the $29 FSTB the other day and all I can say is WOW. I don't know what you other guys are talking about, but it totally tightened up my ride. It handles way better, it actually corners. I can't remember who I bought it from, it's just the plain silver bar, but it was only $29.99 or something...worth every penny. Next week, maxspeeds.

great investment.......and for those reading/ looking into purchasing a strut bar - do not spend more than 30 dollars for a brand new one!!!! there are a few shady people on the board trying to sell used ones for like 40+ dollars - DONT BUY THEM!!!! THe only exception would be if its the stillen bar or some other namebrand

thanks,

Ok, I searched and it turns out I lied..it was $37, but free shipping. Came from Southwest Autoworks. They're doing free shipping right now...it looks great too. You can tighten the bolts to really make the car solid. I can't believe how much it helps..I wasn't expecting anything after reading the posts here. Before i put it on my car was SCARY..borderline UNSAFE in any corners. I felt like I was just holding on as the car did what it wanted. This bar has given me the control back. I'm so looking forward to my maxspeeds.

I tried a few times to get mine to stop rubbing against the manifold in reverse, but to no avail. I couldn't figure it out. Sad really, I'm able to do all the other DIY stuff just fine. Any other hints? I"ve read up alll the instructions, just can't seem to do it. It's the cheapo Bomz or whatever style 40 buck on EBay one with the black plates and no labeling. Thanks!

Mine came with some basic washers that went in between the plates and the car. Rose it up a fraction of an inch...and I have no problems. I'm not familiar with the boomz bar...the Southwest auto bar has a pretty good bend in it to clear the manifold. I'll take pics later this week after I install my grille.

I had the same problem. Go to Home depot and buy some 3/8 inch washers. Get the good ones that won't rust. Put 3 on each strut bolt before the plate for the FSTB. Then screw the bolts back on with your tourque wrench and it should rub no longer. Atleast mine doesn't.

Good luck;

Nathan
