Are your coils wrapped? They could be touching each other when they are compressed.

no they are not...but when i press down on the car i dont hear the clanking noise.....but i guess a bump in the road applies more force to the car than me pressing down on it....ummmmm....does anybody else have a slotuion to this problem?...or does anybody else know what this could be?

Here is some basic stuff to check incase you just missed it.
Ok My friend had sort of the same problem. He had the springs switched around. One of the front was on the back and the spring compresed all the way because it wasnt made to handle all of the weight of the front. Check the Numbers on the springs. Make sure you have them in the right place. Also make sure u tighted the **** out of the top of the strut. If not it will make a knocking noise also.
I hope to put mine on this weekend. good luck

Ground controls are noisey by design. Not to much you can do unless you get creative. Top and bottom of the springs should be seated on some kind of isolation to avoid metal to metal. But unfortunately that makes adjusting the height difficult.

The ground control spring is narrow, it's very possible that the rear Nissan OEM isolation sleves might fit perfectly on both the top and bottom coils. Might wanna give that a try if you have the sleve from your old rear springs.
