Spoiler Installation

Anyone on this forum ever install a spoiler on his or her rig from Spoilerdepot.com? I got one and it looks great, workmanship, paint quality, all top drawer, however the installation instructions seem to be a little vague. What I’m interested in is hole locations. It looks like it is designed to mount only where you can access the single Wall sections of the double walled trunk lid. If you can provide a picture of your bolt locations that would really help. Also where did you tap into the brake light wire? I am thinking of using the third brake light wire if it's easly accesable from under the back deck where it sits. Thanks for the help.

I don't know the answer to this, but I am also very curious as to the installatino process because i'm getting a nice spoiler for christmas and need to have it put on ASAP! gotta make Max look great for the holidays. THe nissan dealer told me it would cost $200 for them to install it, so i'm seeking other alternatives. Thanks for any advice

$200?! Please, please, please don't spend that kind of money on the stealer...man, I'd never let them get the best of me for that amount.

Besides, it's an easy DIY job. If you're unsure of the exact location, visit your local Nissan dealership and look at some Maximas with spoilers already installed from the factory.

Good luck.

I installed my spoiler myself. It was somewhat difficult. You must first line the spoiler up on the lid where the spoilers curves match that of the trunk lid. make sure to put the little plastic things in the holes. When spoiler is exactly where you want it tape the ends of the plastic really good. The holes I drilled on mine fell into the little brace pocket. I had to drill a hole about a half inch in diameter where the studs stuck through. The hole wasn't quite big enough for the nut so I used a piece of fishing line to drop the nut down into position over the stud. Now your whole comes in play. Use a screwdriver or something to put it on. Also you can tighten the studs up with the flat head screwdriver. When all done try to use some paint to cover holes that were drilled. As for the brake light ? I tapped off the third brake light and completely disconnected it because my windows are tinted so you can't see it. Also I think it looks stupid with two lights, it just gives it away that the spoiler was added. Any other ?'s feel free to ask.

ah...yeah, the whole thing cost me $380 - 300 for the spoiler and the matching color coded cover for the interior brake light, and $80 to install both. The parts manager gave me a discount on the spoiler and the cover but it was still expensive

the dealers usually charge a 1 time fee for the spoiler, parts, paiting, and labor.
