I installed my RSB last night and today I went for a drive. There's a sharp bump (nothing really crazy) when you leave my apartments. I went over it at 10-15 mph and I heard a big CLUNK from the passenger side rear. It also happens on speed bumps unless I crawl over them at 5mph and it happened on the way back into my apartments. Any ideas what could be hitting? I'm going down to look at it after dinner.

Thanks

Update

So I purchased a deep socket set and got under the car tonight. I could see absolutely NOTHING that the RSB (addco btw) was hitting. I tightened up all of the nuts on the mounting brackets and now I have to go considerably faster over the bumps to get the sound. Its better but still not 100% I hope someone can give me an idea of whats going on.

Its natural for the RSB to make that happen, and if you have tightened all

the bolts then that is all tht can be done.

So I shouldn't worry about the sound and just take it easy on sharp bumps?

It could be your muffler.

There's a few times I went over sharp speed bumps or exiting parking lot entrance too fast, and when the car came down the muffler touched the bump/pavement. That's from the rear passenger side as well.....that's the only source of your noise i can think of right now.

The noise never happened before I put on the RSB and it reduced when I tightened down the RSB so I doubt its the muffler. Its a solid thunk rather than a hollow muffler-bouncing sound. I was thinking it might be a section of the exhaust hitting the sway bar but again I would thing I would get a more hollow sound out of that. Oh well.

That is correct. That is one ploblem with the RSB, it makes

noise over speed bumps, but I think the advantage outweights the noise. ;o)

How true that is. The change in the ride was so much that my girlfriend noticed it even as the passenger. She said it felt much more like the car was gripping the road.
