Removing sunroof wind deflector?

Removing sunroof wind deflector?
Just got a 2003 sheer silver TE...I'm not sure I like the sunroof wind deflector...do I just remove the two screws on the ends and take off? What about the rubber gasket that "seals" it around the edge? How does that come off.
TIA...I'm sure this question has been asked alot.

Just remove the screws and then unhook the clips. The gasket may really **** you off when you take it off and find your paint already abraded (ghost scratches throught the clear coat).

Unless they changed things, it is the pressure of the clips and screws that holds it in place...which contributes to its moving around and ruining the paint.

Nissan still has not delivered my replacement deflector and it has been 6 months. I am just going to have them repaint my roof and leave it off.

I'm on my third Maxima, all with sunroofs, and the wind deflector on the 2001 does not make much of a difference in the amount of sound coming into the car. It made a big difference on my 1993 model, and I think on the 1987 one as well (a long time ago!).
I've taken mine off and I think the car looks much better without it.
