Suggestion as to what to buy.It was by Steve someone (sorry cannot find the name again)

Both a CAI and a WAI will give you similar gains in torque. The difference is that with a WAI, it will hold the torque up to higher RPM's better than a CAI, which in turn gives you more horsepower. Horsepower is a function of torque multiplied by RPM.

The longer the tubing, the more restrictive it will be at high RPM's. So a CAI will give you the poorest top-end peak horsepower gains, and the power will fall off faster than with a hybrid (medium length tube) or POP (short length tube)

On the otherhand, for low-RPM power, you actually *want* some restriction, so a CAI will actually help you with low-end. A short POP intake has the shortest length so it will give you the highest top-end (horsepower) gains, but the poorest low-end performance.

So what brand name WAI from what I gather with this post will give me the most power at upper RPM's. Thanks.

Look for the Frankencar or Berk type intakes. I think you'll find what you're looking for there.

I have a Berk intake, but I do not think that Berk is in business anymore. You want to looker for a short ram intake. There is little to no difference between the brands other than price.

FrankenCar air intakes are NOT the only air-intakes that screw up the MAFS there are other brands too and also even without an air-intake installed (factory-airbox) MAFS are known to screw up. From what I know/researched the 5TH Gen MAFS are just poorly designed. Sorry to bring up the whole MAFS thing up again(The topic has been talked-about to death already) I think you should do a "SEARCH" regarding 5TH Gen MAFS. There are plenty of threads regarding the pro's and con's. BTW Ozzfather I suggest you get a FrankenCar air intake. But then again thats just me. "To each is own."

I would just go ahead and order a '01 MAF and get it over with. Its only $83 and then you can run any intake you want with peace of mind.
