Belt Squealing ?

Hey guys tried to do a search and couldn't find anything...I had a new drivebelt put on a little while ago, maybe about 4 months and it was one from Adv. Auto Parts and it squeals like crazy now especially when it snows (like it did in ct today). It's really annoying, when I'm pulling out of school everyone like looks at you, lol, sometimes it only does it when i have the defroster on but today it was doing it non-stop. When I rev it up to high rpm's itll stop but then start again. DO I just need a new belt? WHat is the best manufacture? should i just get oem nisssan?

Once a belt starts squealing, nothin you can do will shut it up for any real amount of time. Get a Nissan belt from your dealer for the best possibility to squash that afterschool embarassment. Gates also has some pretty good belts, I know they are usually used when you have a UDP though.

The belt is loose

The belt is loose. Tighten it up or put some belt dressing on it and the squealing will stop. No need to replace the belt...

Belt dressing, WD40, Silicon Sprays work for about 10 minutes. Save yourself some frustration and just get a new belt. Tightening it MAY work but the belt may be stretched, therefore tightening may not do any good.
