Are you the first .org member to install the Firm Fab one? I remember a thread a few weeks ago about them, and at that time, I don't think anyone else had one.

They LOOK awesome. Hope it performs for you.

Yeah. There was one member who had one. But has now decided to sell it after owning for not even that long (i think less than a week) He's got it for sale in the 5th Gen Classifieds if anyone would like to purchase it. I wonder why he wants to get rid of it??? Problems maybe???...BTW Keep updated on your review on your FIRM-Fab. air-intake.

It is I, who had the Firm's intake. There is nothing wrong with the intake. It looks great and also sounds awesome. My decision to sell it was because of the extented warranty (taking to the dealer) and thus I prefer the quietness of the stock intake.

Make sure to reset your ECU before doing the installation. Here is the link that reference to the ECU reset:

Sorry to get OFF TOPIC. But,Is it really necessary to do what is said in the link when installing an air intake??? I have a FrankenCar air intake w/APEXi air filter but still haven't installed it yet due to weather conditions. Anyway, does any info in that link hold any truth or is it just a bunch of useless babble???....

The aftermarket will increased airflows to the throttle body. Since we have so many sensors that control the engine performance, therefore the reset ECU is needed so that it can "relearn" and adapt to the new hardware. It is similar to when you installed your new hardware on your computer. You need to reboot for it to recognize. Look at the reset procedure as a total shutdown. The recommended 24 hours reset time was assumed to be the duration that the ECU will fully discharged and reset stored memory. IMO, it's always better to be SAFE than having the possible MAF's failure.

VMaximus02 Thanks for the info. That is true though it's better to be safe then sorry. Especially with our MAFS. Is it necessary to do the "Resetting the Idle Air Volume Prcedure" that is indicated in the link as well??? Has any member that has done the procedures located in the link have problems???
