HELP! Right Fog Lamp cracked on 2k2 SE

A gull darn rock cracked my passenger side fog lense on my 2k2 SE. To add insult to injury, the local Nissan dealer wants $166 bones for a new "assembly" . Any other options out there?

Agreed call dave burnette @ 800-251-7278, although i don't think he works at courtesy. Tell him you're from the org.

This is the Nissan code for the 2002 fog light kit. B61E0-5Y700

The kit includes:

-left and right side light assemblies
-relay
-fog light/turn signal switch

I had the same thing and I found it less expensive to buy this whole kit for less than the price of just one assembley.

Hope this helps..

I Need a fog light too

Oh hell yeah, somebody else that has a fog cracked. When I bought my max a year ago on the way home (300 miles) my drivers side fog got cracked. If we get the kit, we can probably split the price and let me have one and you the other.

I bought a "2k2 fog light kit" a few months ago to replace the lens in my Driver side light. I ended up swapping both lights for the new ones, but I have an intact "one year old" passenger side light if you are interested.

Just cover the shipping charges.

HOLY $HIT -- THE SPACE SHUTTLE EXPLODED!!!!

Dave works at I beleive town north nissan, not courtesy.

My front right fog has had a line in it for a long time now I even have the expel clear bra stuff on it. From looking at the crack it appears it just cracked from vibration, or possibly getting to hot. A junk yard may be your best bet. www.car-part.com or www.copartsfinder.com .

Is there any merit to somehow sticking some thin plexi or lexan over the fog lights with clear 2-sided tape or clear silicone? Might this cause too much heat buildup in the lens glass?

cracked foglamp lens

My 2k2 has a cracked foglamp on the passenger side. We have no idea how it happened.

Seems Nissan could use some better glass for these lenses. Both of mine are trashed now and I'm about to get a new windshield due to a rock too

I guess I'm not the ony one with this. I'm not going to start a bidding war to get the part. I'll take it if it's still available but if you want to auction it off, I completely understand. Thanks anyway.

Wow... I didn't think this would be such a popular part.

To be honest, I'm not looking for anyone to reimburse me for my cracked lens. Plus, I could not sleep at night knowing that I sold a fellow ORG member a part that has one year of wear and tear on it.

2k2maxowner... Since I offered you, the thread starter, first dibs... PM me with the address you'd like me to ship the lens to, and I'll send it out ASAP. I'll PM you back when I know the shipping cost.

As for the rest of you... I suggest you post a thread looking for members who have cracked their other lens, and agree to split the price of the kit sold by courtesyparts ($140) which includes two BRAND NEW lenses with BULBS.

commendable, quidproquo

I agree with GeezerYK2Sunlit, good work quidproquo. But in case 2k2maxowner had decided not to accept your generous offer, I didn't want you to feel unwanted.

The kits are "identical" to the ones on your car now. They even include the an upgraded light switch on the steering column (even come with a Nissan relay).

They are meant to be sold as an add-on for Maxima owners who opted not to get the option including the fog lights.

Looks like these two ORG members can split a kit.
