Have any Canadian owners noticed that the 2001 Maxima Se is different then the U.S Model? For Starters, the only option is Manual or Automatic. Everything else is Standard from stereo to leather. The one benefit the U.S model has is the different running boards. They do like alot nicer. Let me know if any of you noticed, and let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Sure the US SE model as a lot more options like Bose, Meridan, C&C etc. In Canadian we can't get a base SE. Only the 20th Anniversary Edition SE is available and I don't think it has the same body kit as the US version. Everything else seems to be the same.

The other big difference is the price. From reading some posts it seems that in the US, the AE is significantly more expensive than the Canadian AE. For example, I paid about 33k CAD for mine which on a straight conversion would be about 22k US. That is fully loaded. I haven't seen anyone in the States matching that number for a purchase price. It may be that there is an import duty in the US, I don't know.

I think the US body kit may be slightly more aggressive looking, though I haven't seen it in person. You can check out the US models at their website.
