Final Fix for truck scratch

I took my 2000 GLE in for the trunk scratch TSB. I admit I had let it go too long, but I did not know about the TSB until recently.

After a comedy of errors at the dealer (ordered wrong clips, body shop guy lost the car, ...) got it fixed and looked great.

Whoa - 2 days later I notice a new sctach developing near the drivers side taillight.

Took it in today and they air brushed over the new scratch and on the trunk lid.

Now the really good part - they adjusted the trunk lid alignment by moving the trunk lid about 1/32 of an inch towards the rear of the car. Looks like there is total clearance between bumper and trunk lid so no chance for parts to touch. Plus I drove it in the rain tonight and the trunk still closes solidly in contact with the rubber seal. No water anywhere.

I think there was another member on here who had repeated problems with trunk scratches - see if maybe this will help you out. If I have a chance I look you up on the board and send you a PM.
