Tires: Falken ZE512. Opinions please.

I have a 2k SE and it will be needing new tires soon. After looking around I found that b/c the rim is only 7", it's extremely difficult to find a 17" tire w/a 7" width (225/50r17). Keep in mind, I don't want to pay $800 for a set of tires.

So, I find these Falken ZE512's for $500 & change. The price seems ok, but I have NO experience w/the Falken line. Has anyone bought a set of these tires? If so, are they a good buy? What price did you pay?

Note: I think last years model of the same tire was the ZE502.

I had a set of Faulken ZE502's on my 3rd Gen and they handled great in the rain and snow. Since they are all season tires they were a bit noisy but not too bad. Had the tires on the car for about 2 yrs now and there is still ALOT of tread left on them. Yes, the ZE512's are the newer versions of the ZE502's but with a better tread design and supposedly quieter ride. Good luck w/the purchase.

I'm not too sure which falken's I have, but I think they're a bit too loud for my taste. I've heard my friend's Toyo's on his 98 GSR and his are way worse!! It almost sounds like your riding in a truck with boggers.

I have them on my 2000 SE. Actually, my wife drives maxima most of the time so I cannot comment on the performance much. I drove just once and I thought it was better than Potenza. My wife also don't complain so I guess it's ok and it's not that loud.
I was hesitant to buy them at first but I heard some good comment from the Focus board(please don't laugh) and I just bought them. They were a lot cheaper than Pilot A/S. I paid like $600 with road hazard from the Sears.

OK, I have 225/45R17 Falken Azenis rubber on my Motegi MR-7s. Before that, my car had the 16" rims with the factory Toyos. What I have noticed from the Falkens has been excellent wet and dry weather traction but they suck BAD in the snow and ice. The ride is a little stiffer and noiser than I would like, but then again I DID buy a Z rated tire and went from the plush (but dangerous) Toyos. Good luck, hope this helped a bit (being that they aren't EXACTLY what you were asking about )

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I have found my next set of tires.

Peace.
