Raced my brother's '00 Galant V6, it's the same engine as in the GTZ, but not fully loaded, and killed him with no problem. His Galant has 190hp, and is pretty quick, and has good suspension, although they don't make them 5spd. 5spd Maxima will have no problem beating them, but i'm not sure about auto.

The GTZ is SLOW. I think it has goes 0-60 in mid 8's or so. My friend has one. A Max of any flavor should be able to beat it.

never raced a Galant before...
i thought those things are fast..
but then again...

with all this rain coming down in sothern cali, i don't wanna race anybody till the rain stops..

The last truly great Galant was the VR-4 in '91-'92. 195 HP, less than 3000 lbs., 4WD, 4WS and great handling. Made excellent rally cars. Too bad Mitsu has gone soft lately.

 

I checked car and driver for the specs on the GTZ:

0-60 : 9.1 secs.
standing 1/4 mile : 16.9 secs.
road-holding index : .76 g's

sounds a bit weak for a 'sport sedan', doesn't it?
