How to approach a dealer

Here is my situation. I live in Alaska so i only have one dealer and i don't what them to denied me the service of fixing my tranny. I bought the car 3 weeks ago and have noticed two things. There is a rattle by the glove box, and the tranny shifts slow from 1-2. How do I approach the dealer so that he will not say sorry your out of the luck. My car is a 2000 GXE made in 7/99. I think im still in warranty because I only have 42,000 miles. Im not sure but I think my dad bought an extended warranty when he purchased the car. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Both the rattle in the glove box and the slow shift from 1st to 2nd are covered under Nissan Technical Service Bulletins. The best thing to do is to take copies of the bulletins to the dealership with you. Tell your Service Writer that you're experiencing the conditions described in the bulletins and you'd like them checked out. Then let us know what happens.

The Technical Service Bulletins sticky thread is located at the top of the 5th Gen Forum.

Andrew, the rattles are covered only for the first 10K miles or so, read your manual for more info.

you better replace that fluid and turn your car back to stock, as a precaution.

I really don't think that's necessary. Nissan cannot void your warranty if you use ATF that meets industry standards. And rest assured that every Amsoil product EXCEEDS industry standards.
