Hey jime, its the 20923 EFI
Pretty easy install, if I was closer I would help you.

I know you have an non-return fuel system and you are going to get all kinds of flack about your variable intake, puddling etc etc etc using a wet kit. NX has the only kit that I am aware of made for a non-return system.

You are also probably good for a 100 shot with your stock 3.5L pump because the NX kit runs at stock fuel pressure. If you do run above 75 HP though monitor the pressure closely. I am not sure what aftermarket fuel pump will work on the 2k2 either if you decide to go larger. An inline pump will give you more pressure but you only want more volume. You will also have to find out the jet sizing as well because the fuel pressure is higher than the 4th GEN, ie 52 psi I think. Call NX if they don't have it listed in the jet sizing chart.

I was actually going to buy a 2k2 and install a separate fuel system for the NX kit. I have a 1 Gal fuel cell, inline pump and FPR. However I decided to stick with the 4th Gen for another year so will install it on the 3.0L and run C16 to see how it does.

How is it going to affect the Variable Intake and what is this about the puddling?

I a little confused on what parts I need.
So far:
20923 Nos Kit
Bottle Opener
Bottle Heater
Guages
T.P.S. Switch becauase the drive by wire..

What else am I missing here?

I keep seeing this NX Nitrous Sytem GENX-2 UP-GRADE Kit
What is this purge thing? Doesnt it come with the 20923 Kit?

Thanks

Maybe I should shut up until all the naysayers are finished.

I am really curious as to why you got the NX kit? I asked about NX a year ago and everyone told me not to get it, it wouldn't work etc etc

The puddling deal is a marketing ploy by NOS to try and prevent you from buying an NX wet kit. They will tell you that the fuel will puddle in the intake and explode. The reason they do that is they weren't able to design a nozzle that would atomize the fuel properly and their wet kits did exactly that, puddle. Now they have a new wet kit so its ok again. (they probably copied the NX design)

You didn't say what gauges you had but you should have a nitrous pressure gauge, fuel pressure gauge and an EGT or Air/Fuel guage.

The GENX-2 has a bottle heater, purge valve, nitrous gauge, not sure on the rest. The purge is nice but not really necessary it just keeps the nitrous at the solenoid nice and cool and impresses girls mainly.

You can also get lots of help on the Nitrous Forum.

Jim

PS Change your 20923 Nos kit to 20923 NX kit.

I am geting the NX kit =].

To tell you the truth, i dont know much about the nitrous...Im still learning, I heard the NX was more effective and better then NOS I still gotta do mroe research on that..

THose will be the 3 gauges I will end up getting the Aif/Fuel, bottle pressure, and air pressure.

I was thinking of the purge but it wasnt really necessary...

Now I am confused about one thing... Since the 2002's dont drive by cable..but rather electronically..

I will be purchasing a T.P.S. switch, which will shoot the nitrous at WOT above and only above 4000 RPMS, I am nto so educated on how will I install this..

Thanks

You need to do some reading. Especially, since you have a VQ35. SR20DEN has a NOS kit on a 2K2, so he can help you with what to do about the returnless fuel system.

I'd start reading/searching by the links in my sig and go from there. There is a TON of info on this site, so be prepared to spend a few hours.

Good luck!

The NX is a lot different than the dry NOS system. Take that into account when you read the NOS info. As far as I know, no one has installed the NX kit on a 2k2.

Biggest difference is that you run stock fuel pressure through a nozzle vs tricking the regulator into bumping up the fuel pressure and putting the extra fuel necessary through the injectors.

That's what I thought also, however I don't want to get into explaining those details to him because I don't feel confident I know enough to 100% say how the VQ35 fuel system and nitrous work together.

SR20DEN does know how the returnless system works(so do I, but not how N20 works on a returnless system), where you need to tap for fuel and other nitrous ins/outs such as the throttle-by-wire, so I suggested him. He has the most experience here with a 2K2 and nitrous.

As you pointed out, nobody that I know of has done a NX kit on a VQ35 and killer2002SE appears to need to do a little homework before he attempts this.

Stock compression ratio, no engine work has been done. My 13.1 was done with a 100 shot NX.

As I said earlier I was planning on getting a 2k2 earlier but will probably wait till next year, I have a few more things I want to try on the 4th Gen to see what I can wring out of it.

Not sure where you can look other than this forum for help. A lot of stuff I have done was learned here and a some of it I worked out on my own.

All my mods are listed here.

I installed the purge line in the rain tray between the two wiper blades in the centre. Some days its not as visible as others but it always draws a bit of an ahhhh from the crowd during the eliminations. Most don't know what the heck it is.

Good for scaring old ladies at crosswalks too.

Also...

If you haven't tried asking in the West Coast forum, I would ask for help there.

You CANNOT put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the cabin regardless of what kind of line it has. Totally against all safety rules. Electrical gauge only.

What I do if you want to do it just for racing or testing, is to put a longer hose on the mechanical fp gauge and run it out through the hood and under the wiper blade. Its outside the cabin but you can still see it.

I defintly dont want to run any lines and want to actually have this gauge permanent inside the cabin. I want the electrical one but they are a little pricey. 200 for a gauge is absurd. Same thing for the nitrous pressure as well. Im looking for the Auto meter Ultra lite look. You know where I cang et these gauges cheaper anywhere jime?

THanks!

Many places carry Autometer, best prices I have seen are on line.
Summit, Jegs etc. Ebay will also from time to time have good deals.

If running electrical, you may also want to buy yourself something to mount them in where they are visible. A pillar is always a good place as they will be right in front of your place while driving (where you need them to be).

Fuel pressure gauge will require a tee to tap your fuel line.

Nitrous will also require a tee if you plan on running an in cabin gauge. Most of the auto sites will have a tee designed to work with -AN lines. You will also need to purchase additional line if running a nitrous gauge. The kits will generally only provide enough line to run from the solenoid to your bottle in the trunk.
Any questions, let them fly!

thanks for the info dave,
well i got electircal fuel pressure and nitrous pressure gauges. and a mechanical a/r gauge.

For the gauges, these Tee's come witht he gauges dont they? DO I have to purchase 2 more? Also, I will have to purchase extra line? Why is that? The electric guages simply have wires comming to them not tha actual hose if that was what you were referring to..

If im not mistakem, the Nitrous guage has a connector which goes on the bottle and wires just have to br run into the car. As for fuel pressure, I wouild have to attach a Tee to the existing fuel line?

Also, for the A/F gauge, how do i hook it up to the O2 sensor?

Frank, aka JDMMAX will be helping me with the install YEAY!!! THanks again frank..

As for the a pillar, NO FRIGGIN GUAGE pods for a 2k2 =[, i was thinking of the 90-94 eclipse one but thats only dual pocs, my next idea was to mount them under my deck in the extra DIN space. If not, well get to the fiberglassing on the existing A pillar..

Ill be putting it on this sunday..
Wish me luck!! =]

THanks!
