What Tint % Should I get?

My Max is Satin Blue Pearl and I was thinking of either going 20% all around, 5% strip on the front or I might go 20% on back and rear windows, and 35% on the front. Another way to make the car seem darker (at least it's legal here from what I understand) is do 35% all around, except also put a 50% film on the front window. That way your tint is completely legal but seems darker. I have had 3 cars previously tinted. In my experience 35% all around is way too transparent. 20% may be a little dark. I think the 20% rear and 35% front works well. I had this done in a white Max and it looked good. Anyhow, I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet. I have until tomorrow morning

I will consider this as well. I go through this every time I have a car tinted. The last time I got 35% all around I promised myself I would not go that again, but I'm still considering doing it. Go figure. We'll see.

I have 5% in the back and 15% in the front. I have been pulled over and the cop didn't say anything about my tint and named everything else on my car that looked 'semi-illegal' including my hyperwhite lights for side markers, license plate cover, radar detector, loud music, etc. The limo in the back is easy to see out at night as long as there are street lights. I can see cars still and everything. The only thing is, if there is no lights like in someone's driveway or a parking lot, it is damn near impossible. I have already backed into my friend's Mercedes ML320 who parked in my driveway because I couldn't see out. Other than that, I have no regrets with my dark tint. I'm actually considering tinting my front windshield just a bit, because I don't like people being able to see in my front windows at the driver and passenger.

I have 20% all around. One of my friends got a ticket for my tint while he was driving my car (I was a passenger)anyways. With a black on black A.E Maxima I would go 35% all around or 35% on the side windows and 20% in the back window.

this should read "go as dark as you can and are willing to throw that money away" because if you get a ticket you're gonna have to peel it all off... or if your state won't let you pass inspection because of tint you're gonna have to peel it all off...
I got 50% in the front and 35% rear. In direct sunlight it's not dark but it still looks pretty good. Also, it passes inspection, cops don't notice it, and I'm never gonna have to ever peel it all off.

I had mine done at Ziebart. They do a great job.

On my Accord I had (get this) 5% all around, a 20% ON TOP of the 5% in the back windows AND a 50% completely *clears throat* COMPLETELY down my windshield (God I love South Texas) and there was no way in heaven or hell you could see ANYTHING into the car. I got used to it at night and it is possible to see outta 5% windows
Now, on my Max I only have 20% all around which is really nice, not to light, not too dark, just right.
All in all, it's up to personal choice when it comes to tint and rims. G'luck and have fun!

Ditto!
I went with 20% the first time and I hated it. You could see in the car and with my frost interrior it was even worse. I scrapped it and went with a 5% and could not be happier. Sometimes it's hard to see out at night on a dark street, but most of my driving is done looking out the windsheild.
If anything, I would not go higher than 15% as it looks like $hit in my opinion...almost just like the windows are dirty.
I am with you here as well. I have 5% all the way around on my black on black SE and it looks sick. Every time you go less on tint you want more and end up spending more $$$. Go darker and don't split upt the tint like 50% up front and 20% in the rear, that's a stock SUV look to me and I just don't like it...but's that's just an opinion.
