Just did a tranny flush with mobil 1 synthetic

and i'm very very happy with the results. The tranny definately shifts SMOOTHER from the 1-2 shift, this shift was always rough. I wasnt expecting results like this that I could tell right away. So basically i'm recommending this oil if your goin to be flushing soon. Its 5.99 a quart at pep boys and they used 12 quarts.

Cool, did you do it yourself or did you pay to have it flushed? If you paid, how much and where? Im glad to hear you noticed a difference from 1st to 2nd. I will be doing this as soon as I have the time.

The capacity is 10 qts. but most shops need a couple extra quarts to completely flush out old fluid.

I used AMSOIL ATF and flushed it myself. I immediately noticed how much quieter it was and how smooth but firm the shifts were. It is one thing to talk or read about the improvements but experiencing such dramatic improvements is awesome!

Is Mobil 1 a good synthetic oil brand?

AMSOIL, Mobil-1 and Redline all have their supporters. IMO AMSOIL is the best but Mobil-1 and Redline are excellent products. I tried Castrol Syntec, engine sounded terrible so I replaced it witnin 300 miles with AMSOIL 0W-30. I wouldn't be afraid to get my tranny flushed at Pep Boys with Mobil-1. It sounds like Pep Boys will flush your tranny and charge you $5.95 quart Xs 12 quarts or about $72. That is a great deal! Hope this helps!

OK I just had my tranny fluid changed for Mobil 1 ATF. It definitely shifts smoother and it seems that there's a better connection (for lack of a better word) between the engine and drive wheels.

Now, I'm curious as to how Mobil 1 ATF will affect my 1/4 mile trap speeds.

Auto's use a ton of fluid. Gear oil only helps cool and lubricate. ATF must do that and act as a hydraulic fluid as well.

I just had my 2000 Maxima ATF machine flushed with Mobil 1 synthetic.
As Phat2k1AE posted earlier, I noticed a difference from the conventional ATF that was replaced. Smoother, firmer, at all shift points. Feels like the VQ can get through the gears quicker.
Also had the power steering fluid flushed. Smoother steering and even better feel through the steering wheel. I just hit 50,000 miles and with these fluids replaced, I have replaced all fluids.

Nice to hear you got improvements in stering and shifting. I did what you did but used AMSOIL ATF. I was amazed by the difference the Synthetics make but it is nice to hear it from someone else. Sometimes we become bigots and don't realize it happened. Another thing you might consider, I have cleaned all grounds in the engine compartment, battery terminals, brackets, connectors, clamps and bolts with a dremel tool. Makes a significant improvement in MPG and performance. Happens gradually as if ECU is tuning itself to the changes the cleaning makes. Factory grounding is poor! Just something else for you to try!
